Story
Esmeralda, a.k.a. Ezzy, is apx 3 years old and 13.4 pounds. She is West highland terrier mix. Non shedding. Ezzy is a good dog, she has a few quirks , she is a bit of a nervous nelly when meeting new people, weary but never aggressive. Once she gets to know you and is comfortable with you she is super duper cuddly, loving and affectionate, just takes her a day or two. She walks well on leash and harness, appears to have good potty manners. She is good with male or non dominant female dogs but will “mom” younger puppies and does not like hyper dogs in her face and will give a little growl and pull her head back but will not bite. Non shedding. Gorgeous white coat. She is not a big barker but hates the crate and will whine a lot if you crate her. She is very well mannered and really does not need to be crated. She was rescued from a high kill shelter. She was shaved when we got her. Covered in fleas. Disgustingly dirty. Now she is healthy, clean and emotionally healing from her past life. She is a great girl, she just needs that extra love. She would be fine with children middle school age and up but I would not trust her yet with very small children. I don’t think this is a never , I think she just needs to learn trust in humans again. Someone was mean to this girl . And then probably just dumped her in the middle of no where. Story
4 months old Freya is only 8 lb at the moment and may not grow more than 15. She is located in Texas but can be transported to other states and even Canada to the right home. She is treated like a Princess at her foster home, where she sleeps with her 7 year old foster sister. Start your application to adopt this princess via www.savesomesouls.com Freya and her sister Frida were found by a busy freeway with their mother Fiona by a Good Samaritan who saved their lives. She looked for their home but after 2 weeks when no one claimed them, she surrendered them to our rescue. Freya is very loving and super adorable. She is quiet and patient, and is crate trained and housebroken. Freya lives with her foster brother Buster (see picture), and four kitty foster siblings. She is current on all her shots. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and kept on deworming schedule, and heartworm and flea preventative. Freya's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, GPS tracker, Harness, leash and a high quality nylon Martingale collar. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards, if any, must be adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued from our high kill shelters, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and the shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
FOR ADOPTION IN ONTARIO - BRONX: Cute, Complicated, and Completely Worth It This tiny 10 pound 5 year old pup with the big personality found his way back into our care earlier this year. Since then, he has been through quite the journey, one that included over 3 months in a professional board & train program (at the not-so-tiny cost of $12,652.62 ). During that time, he also had an extensive veterinary work-up to rule out medical causes for his behavior. The verdict? Bronx is healthy, strong, and as it turns out, very clear about his likes and dislikes. Now back in foster care, Bronx is doing well, but it is clear he will always be a dog who requires observation and understanding. When Bronx doesn’t like something, he will tell you—no guessing games here. He is complex, yet easy. Needy, yet independent. Sweet and affectionate, yet occasionally a little salty. In short: he is a whole little man in one small package. Bronx thrives when people understand that dogs, just like humans, can have quirks, moods, and boundaries. He will cuddle like it is his job, then promptly ignore you like yesterday’s news. He is THAT guy. He knows he is not everyone’s cup of tea, but he would like to declare that he can be a bit of a jerk… but most of us have dated worse. And he is way cuter. 🐾 Bronx deserves love, patience, and a family who will celebrate him exactly as he is. We know those people are out there. Until then, he is working hard in foster care, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far he has come. For any questions, please contact his adoption coordinator Jackie at adopt@teamdogrescue.ca
