Can only be adopted in Texas Looking for a trusty sidekick to go on adventures with? A shaggy dog who'll never leave your side and will cuddle up with you to get through the long night? Well, look no further than Maya! This sandy, shaggy, terrier will sweep you off your feet and will make everyday feel like an adventure! Her honey eyes will always be sparkling to see you wherever you go and whenever you get back home! Maya is going to thrive as an only dog and would do best in a home that does not have a lot of doggie traffic coming and going. She likes her quiet life and she loves her person. Like most diva's she is not one to share her toys, people or space! Maya is the type of girl who would love the simply country lifestyle. Sitting on the porch with her person, afternoon strolls on the backyard. Really the quiet, relaxed, laidback kinda gal. Maya is a medium-sized dog (20-59#). Local adoption fee $200 (in TX)

Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of Omaha. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. But despite where they lived i& were going to be used to make money off their backs, they were all the most precious bundles of joy. Her life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. She was one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued Lady & 15 other baby dolls. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Lady how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as she is in her foster home. Lady & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Lady is so stunning to look at & she looks right at you with such love her foster mum said. She will stare at you as if she is staring into your soul. She saiid she is the life of the party but can also be a peacemaker if her foster siblings become a little naughty. She loves every dog & they love her. She said wherever you are lady wants to be & is so very spirited & lovely. Instantly when she went into her foster home it was as if she had always been there & part of the pack. She will talk to her foster mum she said when she wants her attention or wants something from her. She will also be happy to play with her foster siblings & loves to chase the other dogs. In her foster home she goes on material potty pads. For everything she has been through her foster mum said she is a sweetheart. Lady her foster mum said is so affectionate & jumps at you to pick her up & give her love & kisses & hugs. She adores being carried & given love. Her foster mum said she has a huge personality & will let it be known she is there & will let you know what she wants. The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over head that’s not outside. Lady is a wonderful eater & is not shy about eating. She eats clean in her foster home, meaning she eats grains, fruits & vegetables & many healthy proteins along with supplements. She is good with her baths & being dried by the hairdryer & very tolerant. She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. She will bark at her foster family to pick her up & put her on the bed to sleep with them. She is such a fun puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She loves everyone. She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. She is a puppy & we have not taken her out anywhere. She does not discriminate against breeds. She has always been with other dogs & she adores other dogs & they make her feel comfortable & confident. Lady rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home with her foster family & to & from the vets. It’s still all new to her though. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Lady as you can imagine spent the first part of her life in a caged environment. She loses her mind if she is put into a crate & goes nuts wanting out. Who could blame her? She is losing her puppy fuz & getting her adult fur in. We are also looking for a forever home for Lady where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Lady is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Lady has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in her foster home & she is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home roughly the same size for her to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Lady is roughly 14.5 lbs & she is 7 months old & ‭a cockapoo‬. She has put on weight since being in her loving foster home. What she is mixed with we are not sure, female, she is spayed by laser by our wonderful vets, microchipped, received her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Lady with paying for her from a commercial breeder. Bringing her to WA with her travel/flight costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Her adoption fee does not even cover half of what we have spent on Lady. Lady has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not her around small children so we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Lady was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Lady friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Lady potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Lady & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Lady who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Lady has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from a commercial breeder who needed all of her dogs gone because she could no longer care for them in Omaha. This breeder had 63 dogs that she wanted removed & we ended up taking 3 springer spaniels & Vegemite. There was a standard schnauzer rescue that come in & took all of the standard schnauzer’s but left Vegemite behind because he was not perfect & they did not think they could find a home for him. Poor Vegemite during birth was hurt & he had his toes removed on his right hind leg & it was a little shorter but it does not affect him at all. He gets around just beautifully. But this breeder did care about her dogs & wanted what was best for them despite the fact she still was making money off their backs. His life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. He was one of the very lucky ones because if we did not rescue him he would have been sold to be possibly used as a breeding machine. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Vegemite how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as he is in his foster home. Vegemite was bought back to the WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Vegemite’s foster family said he is so stinking cute & so lovely & affectionate & has the hugest personality. They said he is full of life, love & energy & is always on the go & does everything with a zest for life, but is a funny gangly chap who definitely has a mind of his own & is always looking for an adventure to be had. He is still learning his puppy manners & is absolutely obsessed with his foster mum & loves her very much. He wants to go wherever she goes. He will cry out if she leaves without him even though his foster dad is there & his dog friends. He is a sweetheart though & he has that puppy fun & goofy cuteness about him. He is great with being picked up & given love & just wants you to love this sweet boy. He radiates happiness. He loves to eat & enjoys treats & sprinting out into the backyard to run around & chase his dog friends. The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. He is good with his baths & being dried by the hairdryer & very tolerant. In his foster home he eats clean, meaning he eats fruits, vegetables, grains & proteins & supplements. He is obsessed with food & treats. He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He also loves to sleep with his foster family in bed with them & also snuggle up with the other dogs. He would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. We have been working with him on a slip lead. He does not discriminate against breeds. He has always been with other dogs & he adores other dogs & does play with other dogs. He loves snuggling up with them & is obsessed with toys. Vegemite rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when he was picked up & rescued & us taking him places since we rescued him. It’s still all new to him though. He can move around a lot in the car though at first with excitement. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. We do not want people to say they won’t crate & be deceptive & crate him. We are also looking for a forever home for Vegemite where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Vegemite is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. Vegemite has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & on the property where he was living & he is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs in his loving foster home. He absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Do not think apartment living is for Vegemite. Vegemite is roughly 20 lbs & he is 8 months old & ‭a standard schnauzer‬. He has put on weight since being in the rescue in his foster home. What he is mixed with we are not sure, male, he is neutered by laser by our wonderful vets. He is microchipped, up to date on shots including DHLPP, rabies & bordatella. Our vets do not suggest we do anything regarding his leg as he will only randomly put it down when he wants to. It does not bother him at all or affect him at all & he runs like the wind with joy. We have spent far more on Vegemite with paying for his care. Bringing him to WA with his travel/flight costs, boarding fee, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing him to WA than his adoption fee comes close to covering.
