Story
Honey Peanut is a small mixed‑breed puppy weighing 14 pounds and stands 15 inches at the shoulder. She is likely close to her full adult size. Honey was rescued from an unsafe living situation and has been fostered in a home environment. She has adjusted well and is showing excellent potential as a companion dog. Honey Peanut has a very sweet, gentle, and affectionate personality. She enjoys being close to people and seeks out cuddles. She has been friendly with the resident dog and cats in her foster home and shows no food aggression. She is calm for her age, does not jump on people, and rarely barks. She is mostly house‑trained but will benefit from continued consistency. She has not had formal training yet but is responsive and eager to please. She tolerates baths, nail trims, and handling without fear. Honey Peanut would do well in a home that can provide structure, companionship, and continued training. She is slightly fearful of the dark and prefers company when going outside at night. She would be an excellent fit for families, individuals, or homes with other pets. If you are interested in adopting, please go to straylovefoundation.org and fill out an adoption application. Each of our rescues will be COMPLETELY vetted and/or updated, which includes a heartworm test, worming, spay/neutered, vaccines, and micro-chipping. We do all in our power to assure our rescues are as healthy as possible and live a long happy life. There is always a chance that an animal we have rescued will have a genetic health issue (since they are rescues there is know way that we can know their family history) or one of our tests falls in that low percentage of false negative category or a they contract a rare disease that we have no way of knowing about or they contract under your care. We cannot guarantee 100% that your pet will live the 15 to 20 years we hope for but with all that we do for them, the chances are incredibly strong that they will. Transportation fees, when applicable, vary by distance/expense. Home checks may be conducted. We are asking for adoption donation of $248. On most animals, a tax-deductible adoption donation of $248 is required upon approved adoption application. (This is a fraction of our vet expenses and you are always welcome to donate more.) HOWEVER, when we rescue a special breed, ridiculously adorable, or unusual color, we ask for a higher donation which helps towards our vet expenses. If you can't adopt, donate or sponsor, if you can't donate, volunteer! Tax deductible donations can be made via PayPal using our email address: info@straylovefoundation.org. Or you can click on the donate button on our FB page (StrayLoveFoundation Magnolia Springs) or click on the donate button on our website home page at www.straylovefoundation.org. Story
UPDATE!! This sweet girl is Genie! Sadly, Genie has grown up in foster care and never had a family of her own. Genie came to us at around 8 weeks when her and her siblings were found dumped off a dirt road. She’s now pushing 1 year and is still looking for her forever home. Genie is a wonderful girl and there’s no reason she shouldn’t have her own family. She’s great with all size dogs. She loves kids and is happy all time. She’s a gorgeous black lab mix and weighs around 40 lbs. Genie is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and is spayed. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact any of the vet clinics we work with, as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding. Story
UPDATE!! Meet Kiko. He was found abandoned on a dirt road with his siblings. He appears to be like black mouth cur/hound/cattle dog mix… maybe!? He is now 5-6 months old and 25-30 ish lbs. He is leggy and lean. Not a big pup at all. He is an active and playful pup. This boy loves other animals and children. He loves to romp and play outside and would be perfect for any household. He’s a little timid in new environments but opens up quick. Kiko is utd, dewormed, altered and ready for his happy ever after. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter!
