Story
Meet our Whippet/Golden Retriever mix puppies — a special litter of gentle souls learning how to be carefree pups for the very first time. These puppies came to us from Illinois Doberman Rescue after being discovered in the barn where they were born. They were scared and under-socialized, not having much contact with humans prior to this. They arrived at our shelter understandably shy, unsure, and overwhelmed by the world around them. With time, patience, and a gentle, respectful approach, these sweet pups have already begun an incredible transformation. Day by day, they are blossoming—starting to explore, showing curiosity, and learning what it means to play, trust, and simply be puppies. Watching them rediscover joy has been nothing short of heartwarming. While they are making great progress, they will need patient, understanding families who will continue this journey with them. Their ideal home will give them the space to move at their own pace, offering reassurance without pressure. Each of these pups has so much love to give—they just need someone willing to meet them where they are and show them the kindness they’ve always deserved. ❤️

Story
Ryder came to us from Illinois Doberman Rescue after being discovered in the barn where he was born. Having very little human contact early in life, he was understandably shy, unsure, and overwhelmed by the world around him. After arriving here, he was in a foster home to give him a break from the shelter and made progress there! With time, patience, and a gentle approach, he has learned that people can be safe and kind. Once he trusts you, this sweet boy would happily cuddle with you all day if given the chance. He loves snuggling close and settling in for pets. He has also started playing with toys, showing off playful zoomies, wagging his tail, and trotting around the room with growing confidence. Ryder is incredibly smart, observant, and eager to learn. Ryder will need a patient adopter who is committed to slow, positive confidence-building. He would thrive in a calm, understanding home that will continue meeting him where he is, celebrating the small victories, and letting him move at his own speed. This special boy has already come so far. Now he just needs a forever family to help him continue blossoming!
