Story
Chichi is a 7-year-old Whippet mix who is originally from the Dominican Republic. She was found at a few weeks old and was raised in a rescue in the Dominican and was never really exposed to, or socialized with, many people. She arrived here when she was about a year and a half and was in a home for about 5 years. The family could not keep her as she was quite stressed out with the newborn infant in the home. She is so calm that she is practically like a cat and gets along with all animals. She's very sweet, calm and loving but also nervous. Chichi can be in a home with or without with other animals. She is kind to dogs & cats. She will require a family that is patient and loving and understanding that she may never be a dog that runs up to you tail wagging to lick your face. But she is the sweetest little girl who deserves a wonderful family to appreciate her for the beautiful and good girl that she is. She absolutely requires a fully fenced yard as she is a fight risk. Chichi is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and sterilized and will come with her medical booklet. Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months. We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things!
