Meet Sammi, a 2-year-old whippet/mountain cur mix who is waiting for someone to love with all her heart and soul. She thrives on human company and does well with both adults and kids, as well as other dogs. She just wants to be part of the action, whether that’s a car ride, a walk or just hanging out on the couch and snuggling. Sammi genuinely enjoys attention and being close to her humans and will thrive in a home where she’s included in daily activities and given lots of affection (which will be returned in equal measure!). Medium-sized at about 30 pounds, Sammi is energetic and playful but settles in nicely after she gets some exercise. She’s in good health, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. She’s doing pretty well at leash walking and getting the hang of house training. It won’t take much to complete her training. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, Sammi could be the one. Story
Nala is 5 yrs old and was rescued from the shelter at 8 wks old. She displayed anxiety and her tail was broken in 2 places. Once home, she became a part of the pack, 3 dogs and 1 cat, showing no anxiety. At 8 months she dislocated her hip and broke her leg in 2 places requiring surgery. She was isolated for 6 months. She did not learn social behaviors to use with other animals. She now has PTSD with Anxiety. She was doing well until she turned 4, then her behavior became aggressive. We were told she does not understand the difference between play and prey, skills that are learned between 5 to 9 months old. When she thinks she is just playing she is actually using fighting skills. Nala is WONDERFUL. She will follow her human around everywhere. She is LOVING, ENERGETIC and SMART. She NEEDS to be in a 1 DOG ONLY home. She has NEVER bitten an human. We LOVE her. We wish to keep her but we cannot but we will make sure she has a forever home that is loving and will treat her like we have.
