Story
NEWBIE ALERT!!  Meet Toby! This sweet boy was found as a stray and sadly never reclaimed. He’s an adorable terrier mix. He’s 2-3 years old and 25 ish lbs. He is a super sweet dude who is great with dogs of all sizes and kids. He’s settling into foster care and doing amazing. He’s utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $195 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! She enjoys chewing on treat-filled toys, going for walks, running in the park, and looks forward to both mealtime and napping. Opal is crate and potty trained and does well with non-aggressive dogs but would need a home without cats. She is playful, full of personality, and has had some light obedience and e-collar training. She would do best with someone ready to continue her training and give her regular attention. Our adoption fee is $175 and includes age appropriate vaccines, vet check, deworming, spay and a microchip. Adoption Application adoption application >>>  Gretel is a quick-witted, busy little pup who packs a lot of personality. This Jack Russell/Basset/Beagle mix is already proving she's one of the sharper tools in the shed — she picks up commands fast, though she'll absolutely test whether you remember them too. At home, she's a classic mix of couch potato and chaos agent. She'll happily curl up on the sofa next to you, shadow your every move around the house, and neatly collect all her toys into one spot like she's taking inventory. Then, without warning, she will hit mach speed across the room for no apparent reason. The zoomies are real, and she is very fast. Gretel is crate trained and well on her way to being fully house trained. She had one early accident and promptly figured out the backup pad — she's that kind of dog. Consistent outdoor trips keep her on track. Leash manners are a work in progress, which is pretty standard for a puppy built entirely out of sniff-and-chase instincts. She knows the leash means a walk and is eager to go — she just needs a patient adopter to help her dial in the focus. She was initially shy around new people, particularly teenagers, but a few weeks of neighborhood meet-and-greets changed that. She warms up and doesn't forget a friend. Gretel is ready for a home that will keep her busy, keep her close, and keep up with her. Our adoption fee is $175 and includes spay, age appropriate vaccines, heart worm test and microchip.
