Meet Blanca 🐾 Blanca is an adorable 3-year-old wirehaired Terrier mix weighing approximately 14 pounds. With her sweet scruffy white coat and gentle personality, she's sure to win over anyone willing to give her a chance. Blanca came to us after being surrendered by her previous owner's neighbor. While she can be a little shy and nervous when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations, she is a very sweet girl at heart. She simply needs a bit of patience, understanding, and time to feel comfortable. Once Blanca warms up and learns she can trust you, her loving personality truly shines. She would do best in a home that can allow her to settle in at her own pace and provide gentle encouragement as she builds confidence. With kindness and consistency, Blanca is sure to become a devoted and loving companion. Blanca arrived with her bonded companion, Gordo, and the two share a very special relationship. They provide comfort and security to one another, and because they are so closely bonded, we would love to see them adopted together. If you're looking for a sweet little dog who just needs a little extra love and patience, Blanca may be the perfect fit—and bringing Gordo along would make it even better for both of them.

Story
Thomas is an absolutely wonderful pup with the sunniest of nature. He is also well-behaved, smart and a fast learner which makes games and training with him extra enjoyable. Thomas is a friendly little man who is affectionate and cuddle-oriented. He enjoys closeness with you and is the best little snuggler. Thomas has one back leg shorter than the other and so he has his own distinct way of running around but it is perfectly normal to him to walk and run that way and so it doesn’t affect him at all! Thomas is dog-social and is fostered in a home with several other dogs in it. He has okayed with dogs smaller and larger and does really well with all. He is a special pup and an absolute gem.

BDRR rescued me from Puerto Rico and I am ever so thankful. I am a very sweet and happy girl that is looking for my furever home. I have a condition known as Intention Tremors. An intention tremor is a tremor that becomes obvious and often exaggerated as the need for precise movement increases. In my case it happens most under times of stress, ie loud noise. For example lots of barking in the kennel environment get very overwhelming for me and trigger the tremors. What does a tremor look like? Well, I shake a bit all the way from my nose to the tip of my tail. The exact cause is not quite known, but it is possible that my mom was sick during pregnancy and I was exposed. It is something I could grow out but we don't know for sure. Our medical team will be happy to talk to you in more detail about my wiggly nature. I am best suited to a quiet and loving home. A home without young children will be best suited as loud noises and lots of commotion bring on my tremors.

Hi! My name is Barbarita. I was rescued in Puerto Rico before arriving here at the Big Dog Ranch Rescue. I am super friendly and an overall happy girl. You would never know that I was attacked by a group of dogs prior to arriving at the rescue in Puerto Rico and as a result I have numerous scars and 30+ stitches on my body. Despite all of that, I am truly full of joy! I love to play with other small dogs, like myself, and I think that I'd thrive in a home with younger children who I can play with. I'd be a great pick for a first time dog owner, and while I would like to live in a home with a large yard, I think that I would be just fine living in a smaller environment, like an apartment. I could easily live either a busy or a quiet lifestyle with my new family. I like to greet new visitors, but can sometimes be protective of my people and my space. I could benefit from continued training, including help with potty-training, but I'll pick everything up quickly once I'm in a home with people I love!
