Story
NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Joey! This little guy was pulled from a local overcrowded shelter. Joey is an adorable terrier mix. He’s around 1 year old and 12 lbs. He’s a little shy but opens up quick. He’s on the calmer side. Great with other dogs but hasn’t been around small children. . He doesn’t mind the car or the leash. He’s a lap pup for sure. Joey is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Story
UPDATE!! After months of tlc… our little Sasha Grace is finally adoption ready. Sasha was surrendered to us when her owner could not care for her. This poor was almost bald due to flea dermatitis and yeast and bacterial infections on her skin. She is blind in one eye but that doesn’t slow her down a bit. She had some nasty teeth that had to be cleaned but now she’s all healed up, healthy and beautiful. She’s a wirehaired terrier mix of some sort. We believe she’s around 6 or so years old. She only weighs around 9 lbs. She’s great with all animals and is a total lap dog. She loves to soak up all the attention and would do best in a calmer household we believe. She is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and spayed.
