Story
Gigi Located in the Sidney NE area Born 11/15/21 Terrier/Chihuahua/Min Pin/ Mystery fusion is our best guess Extremely dog friendly and oriented  Not sure about cats  She would likely be ok with older and calmer children ( , ) Does fine in a crate but often needs to be picked up and put in Very eager to please but you must go slow because she is so sensitive with human feedback Absolutely adored the outside when it’s warm  House trained as long as she is let out appropriately  NOT leash trained Very shy and submissive  Fully vetted  15lbs approx Gigi was from a litter of pups and for whatever reason she was completely overlooked. From the time she was a baby baby she was more interested in hanging with the adult dogs than the puppies and spent most of her time napping on the couch or various dog beds with her besties. We quickly fell in love with this 2lb girl who showed no concern cuddling up to a 70lb APBT or Saint Bernard for nap time. She is now full grown around 15lbs with gazelle like legs, the same soulful eyes and adorable expressive ears. We thought she would be one of the first pups to get adopted, especially with how photogenic she is, however her family has alluded us so far.  In order for Gigi and her momma (Meep) to have the smoothest and most successful transition it is required that they go together. They have an extremely healthy and sweet bond that will assist them both with feeling safe and offer them a sense of comfort that will be needed for success.  As it turns out it may have been a good thing that Gigi has stayed with us longer as we have had the chance to really get to know her. Gigi is VERY SHY with people. She is independent and very sensitive. She also has quirks like, she doesn't love eye contact unless she initiates it and even then not prolonged. She is incredibly sensitive and just telling her “no” in a stern voice makes her stop and can make her cower. In fact she will even tuck her tail and roll over sometimes when you just talk to her, but a quick belly rub and she’s good to go. The entire litter is quirky like this, but she’s still the sweetest and most precious little lady. With strangers or when uncomfortable she will just seek out her safe space. She will need a home with people who will give her the time and love she needs to flourish.  Gigi is impossible not to love. She is playful seeks out love and attention but she is still independent. She can be a bit mischievous, she is just very impish in her personality, like a little silly elf. She can be a touch protective of her food but I wouldn’t say she is food reactive and likely in a home with less dogs the small protective issue will subside. We also believe that in a home with less dogs her personality will blossom even more and some of her shyness may subside. Gigi is a very sweet soul who needs a gentle and patient home to love her forever.  We know this is a big ask. . If you believe you have the patience and love to welcome these girls into your family, accept who they are currently and see their incredibly potential reach out to us! We know their rare but magical home is out there and we are devoted to finding it!  To Contact Us Message us through our website http://www.highplainspaw.org Message the Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/HighPlainsPAW Fill out our Adoption Application at https://www.highplainspaw.org/adoption-application Email us at highplainspaw@gmail.com $200.00 Adoption Fee total for Gigi & Meep (The $200.00 is considered a nonrefundable donation and being we are a 501c3 organization it is tax deductible. The fee itself is not negotiable, our vets don't negotiate and thus neither do we). HISTORY Around Christmas a couple years ago Meeper came to us from a horrible BYB/ hoarding situation in TX right around Christmas. She arrived with 4 newborn pups and 4 other adults, all have been placed but Meeper and Gigi. Upon arrival she was unable to be handled but if we didn’t take her the other option was euth and we couldn’t stand that idea. We knew she was a protective momma and rightfully so, in addition to being scared and confused. She had never dealt with any change from the craptastic life she was raised in, she knew nothing else, no human kindness, no love, rare human contact. Lucky for Gigi she didn't grow up in that environment and has been surrounded by love her entire life. As a result she doesn't have the same fear of men and strangers as her momma. we have tried multiple times to find the special home for these girls but all inquiries didn't seem to grasp their special needs. As a result we decided to take them off for a bit before trying again.  $200.00 Adoption Fee total for Gigi & Meep (The $200.00 is considered a nonrefundable donation and being we are a 501c3 organization it is tax deductible.
