Corky is a loving little guy with a BIG personality! He’s super active, playful, and always ready for fun. Toys? Yes please. Treats? Absolutely. New friends? He loves them all! Corky hasn’t met much he doesn’t like and brings happy energy everywhere he goes. This spunky boy would thrive in an active home with a family who enjoys outdoor adventures and will include him in the fun. He would also do best with another dog in the home who matches his playful, energetic spirit so they can zoom, wrestle, and burn off that puppy enthusiasm together. Story
Sweet momma, Utopia and her five day old pups were one day away from being euthanized in a small south Texas animal control. Momma was scared and protective of her babies for a few days before she realized they were safe. NOW she is THE sweetest and most loving girl!! She needs a patient family, she is so happy with her foster mom but needs a confident and easy going family. She likely would do best with another confident dog.... she just needs to know you before she will just relax and get comfortable in your home. She is worth the wait :) She is doing good with potty training and is good with dogs and cats. She likes going for drives and walks good on a leash. She's got the cutest little tuft of fur on her head. She's smart and likes to play. Mama is likely a long haired/wire haired dachshund/terrier mix and the pups have the low rider qualities with heeler markings- ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!! All pups adopted, just mama waiting!!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX adoption only)

Story
🐾 SCOTTIE PORTIA was a local surrender pure Scottish Terrier who's a sweet little girl and had no vetting. We're working on getting her fully vetted and she's on our schedule for spaying and microchip, as well (included in her adoption fee) She's about 6 years old and just 18 lbs. She's good with other dogs and loves people - we're getting her a well-needed groom and will report back with updated pics as well as more info from her foster. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above to apply or go to www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply ! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌 IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)

Story
🐾 NEIGAN is an adorable little mixed breed young adult male who is fully vetted and his foster reports he's just a lovey, fun pup. He's friendly, playful, and so far good with all other dogs and cats he met. He really loves attention. We have no idea on his age range except that based on his teeth and temperament, we're guessing younger adult. He's about 18 lbs and is housetrained, crate-trained and just loves playing with toys and his ball! He's a perfect little lapful! Good with other dogs and cats and loves people!
