Story
Hi… I’m Kylo. I may not rush up to you right away—but give me a moment, and you’ll see the real me start to peek through. The world can feel like a big, noisy place sometimes, and when I’m unsure, I might pace, watch everything closely, or try to figure out the nearest exit. New people, new places, and especially quick movements can make me nervous at first. But here’s the thing: I want to connect. I’m just learning how to feel safe doing it.Once I start to trust you, that’s where I really shine. I’ll follow you from room to room like your tiny, slightly wiggly shadow. I love being close—cuddles, belly rubs, and quietly sitting beside you are kind of my specialty. I’ve been told I’m pretty charming, and I won’t argue with that. I can be playful, goofy, and sometimes a little bossy when I think it’s time for snacks or another walk (I like to think of myself as “enthusiastically communicative”).Walks are one of my favorite things. I’m getting better every day at slowing down to sniff and enjoy them, and I can pass by people and dogs quite nicely—unless someone starts barking at me first, which I find a bit rude. Small critters, though? I will absolutely try to convince you they need chasing.I’ve also shown that I can make dog friends, especially calm ones who don’t overwhelm me. I’m polite, I read the room, and I’ll step away if things get too exciting. At home, I’m affectionate and settle in beautifully, but I do best with someone who understands that I can get anxious when left alone. I may whine or pace at first—I just miss you and want to make sure you’re coming back. With patience and some guidance, I’m already learning that being alone isn’t so scary. I’m also working on my house training and doing better with a consistent routine and someone who can help me stay on track.I’ll be honest—I don’t always love being grabbed, especially around my collar. It can make me feel worried, and I may react if I feel pressured. But if you go slow, use treats, and listen to what I’m telling you with my body, I’ll meet you halfway every time. I’m not trying to be difficult—I’m trying to feel safe. What I need most is someone patient, kind, and willing to understand me. In return, you’ll get a loyal little companion who will make you laugh, keep you company, and remind you every day that trust is something really special. So… if you don’t mind a dog who might take the scenic route to your heart, I promise it’l
