Louie’s second chance started on Mother’s Day.
Rescued from a neglectful situation, Louie is now thriving and showing everyone just how much love can change a life. At just a year old, this happy little guy has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. Since coming into rescue, he has been fully vetted, treated for fleas and ticks, vaccinated, and neutered.
Louie has some genetic malformations affecting his spine and back legs (he's a little hunchback), but don't tell him that. He runs, plays, wrestles with his dog friends, enjoys daily walks, and keeps up just fine. His condition doesn't slow him down or affect his ability to enjoy life, and he is not incontinent. However, the would do best in a home without stairs to navigate down.
What makes Louie truly special is his spirit. He is affectionate, gentle, eager to please, and incredibly smart. He knows his name, understands "no," listens well, and loves being close to his people. At night, he's happiest snuggled up in bed, but he also settles quietly in a kennel when needed.
Louie gets along well with other dogs, loves chew toys, and enjoys an active lifestyle. He is making excellent progress with house training and already goes outside consistently when given the opportunity.
Despite the hardships he endured during his first year, Louie remains joyful, trusting, and full of love. He deserves a family that will cherish him, celebrate his unique qualities, and ensure he never experiences neglect again.
