Story
Nakita is a small/medium size terrier mix. She has been in foster care since August from the local shelter. Nakita might be a little shy at first, but one thing is she will be loyal to her person! Always sticking by and sleeping next to her foster mom. Except when there's a squirrel ! Recommened on leash when not in a fenced in area. She has a laid back personality, but still loves to romp around with her many foster siblings! Nakita was cat tested and did not bother the cat in her test, but it is always recommended for slow introductions when integrating.  She is also nervous is uncertain situations like the vet office, but once the knows the staff and with positive reinforcement she will be okay.   Nakita would do best with older children in the home! ##2480394##

Story
Meet Tigger — a sweet, soulful terrier mix with a long, lean build and an even bigger heart. This special girl has been through a lot and is ready to find the loving forever home she always deserved. Tigger is incredibly affectionate and bonds deeply with her people. She loves being close to her humans and will happily soak up all the love and attention you can give. She’s fully potty trained, enjoys short bursts of playtime, and has a curious little explorer streak — she may wander off to investigate, but she always comes back on her own. Tigger can get along with other dogs and even cats when introductions are done slowly and properly. However, she would truly thrive in a calmer home where she can be the center of attention. She can be a little possessive of her humans and has a bossy, herding-style personality at times — similar to a Heeler or Aussie — and may nip at other dogs to “put them in their place.” She has never been in a fight and does not show aggression, but because of her strong personality, Tigger would do best as an only pet or with just one calm, respectful furry companion. Tigger would also do best in an adult home or one with older children (12+), where her boundaries and need for a peaceful environment will be understood. Tigger was rescued from a difficult situation and tested positive for early heartworm disease. She is currently on a slow-kill treatment plan and will need continued monitoring and prevention. She previously received ProHeart 12 and will continue follow-up treatment as directed by her veterinarian. Tigger also takes Vetmedin to support healthy heart function, though she does not have heart disease. Because she is recovering, she needs restricted activity while undergoing treatment.   The only other requirement for her ideal home is a fenced yard, as she has a tendency to dart out the door if given the opportunity — which is also why an adult-only home would be the best fit for her. While we understand that not everyone has a fenced yard, it would provide her with the safest and most stress-free environment. That said, we are open to considering exceptions for the right home and family. Despite everything she’s been through, Tigger remains loving, loyal, and full of sweetness. She’s looking for a patient, caring home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of her life. If you’re searching for a devoted companion with a gentle spirit and lots of love to give, Tigger may be your perfect match. ##2366209##
