Story
Meet Garu Male DOB: December 14, 2025 Weight: 22 pounds Breed: Wirehaired Terrier / Jack Russell Terrier Mix Neutered (Fixed): Pending Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Garu is a very loving little guy with a sweet personality and a happy, affectionate nature. He is the kind of dog who enjoys being included in everyday life and happily bonds with the people around him. He also gets along well with: Dogs Cats Garu has beautifully grown beyond the tiny puppy stage while still keeping playful puppy energy and curiosity. He enjoys activity, affection, and spending time with his humans. As a Wirehaired Terrier / Jack Russell Terrier mix, Garu may show traits such as intelligence, curiosity, playful energy, and a lively, engaging personality. These breeds are often known for being smart, social dogs who enjoy activity, interaction, and close companionship with their families. Garu would thrive in a home that can provide: Daily walks and interaction Continued socialization and engagement Structure and consistency Inclusion as part of the family He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a sweet, affectionate, and social young dog. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Young dogs especially still require continued training, structure, and supervision as they grow and mature. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Garu will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and routine Continued leash training and socialization Patience and consistency during adjustment Mental stimulation and engagement Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Garu will need: Daily walks and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment As a young dog, Garu will continue learning and developing emotionally and socially over time. Consistency, patience, and structure are important for helping him grow into a confident adult dog. Garu is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Papaya is a petite, scruffy sweetheart with a soft heart and a quietly blossoming personality. She didn’t have much human interaction in her early life, so the world of being a “house dog” is still a little new to her—but she’s making beautiful progress every day. Papaya is a gentle observer at first. She may take a little time to feel safe around new people, but once she trusts you, her true self shines through: silly, affectionate, and deeply devoted. She loves to stay close to her favorite humans and has even proven to be a wonderful office companion, happily relaxing while her foster works. She currently lives with two large dogs and has done well with dogs of all sizes. While she can be a bit hesitant in initial meetings, Papaya warms up with time and then enjoys playful interactions. She often looks to her dog friends for reassurance and guidance, so a confident canine companion in her forever home would be a big plus. She’s also been around cats and has politely chosen to mind her own business. Papaya is developing excellent house manners—she appears to be housetrained, sleeps soundly through the night, and has a great appetite. She’s comfortable in a crate, especially when she has a dog buddy nearby, which helps her feel secure. Papaya is looking for a patient, understanding home where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. In return, she will reward her people with loyalty, quiet companionship, and the sweetest little bursts of playful joy once she knows she’s safe. If you’re ready to help a shy girl bloom into her best self, Papaya might just be your perfect match.
