Story
🐾 Meet Poppy — The Sweet, Shy Cuddlebug Ready for His Forever Home! Poppy is a 45-pound, 2-year-old Pointer/Cattle Dog mix with the softest heart and the sweetest personality. After spending far too long in a southern shelter, he finally got his chance to travel to Wisconsin with Last Paw Rescue—and now he’s hoping to find the family he’s been waiting for. ❤️ Personality Poppy starts out a little shy, but once he feels safe, he truly blossoms. He becomes affectionate, playful, and absolutely loves being close to his humans. If you sit on the floor with him, get ready—Poppy gives the best hugs and will happily curl right into your lap. He’s a total sweetheart and wants nothing more than someone to love. 🎾 Playtime & Energy His favorite toy is a tennis ball, and fetch is his game of choice! He enjoys playtime but is just as happy to snuggle up and relax with his family. 🌳 Ideal Home Poppy would thrive in a home with: • A fenced-in yard or a family committed to consistent walks • No tie-outs, as being tethered makes him panic • Kids 7+, since loud noises and fast activity can overwhelm him • Dog-savvy companions — he’s selective and prefers calm, respectful dogs • Possible cats, as long as introductions are slow and supervised 🐶 Training & Behavior Poppy is the full package: • Potty trained • Quiet in his kennel • Walks decently on leash and is eager to keep improving • Loves routine, gentleness, and reassurance 🩺 Vetting Poppy is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations—ready to walk into your life and your heart. 📍 Location: Poppy is currently being fostered in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. 🏁My adoption fee is $250 and you can see more about the rescue at https://lastpawrescue.org. Our website takes days to update so please apply even if I’m not on there. ✅You can apply directly at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LPRI/Dog?fbclid=IwAR2NSCms13xrrfdH2mAbM1hPg5dQoC0ruvNJI3TsFtZtsWp9PvNx46zC6SM 501(c)(3) Approved WI Agricultural Licence#285589-DSR
