Story
April is a darling little chihuahua mix puppy. She was born around 3/1/2024 and currently weighs 11 lbs. April is affectionate, sweet, smart and playful. She enjoys romping around the house and yard with her dog buddies. She likes to play with her toys, chew on her bully sticks and other chewy treats. She likes to splash around in the water on warm days and is a pretty good little swimmer. She has plenty of puppy energy and will make you laugh with her silly antics. She loves her people and enjoys couch time with them in the evenings. April currently lives with other dogs of various sizes and she gets along well with them. She also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them. Young children would likely overwhelm her so only dog savvy, respectful children over 10 are recommended. She is an alert barker and loves her yard so no apartments for her. She likely would not do well left home alone daily for long hours. April is crate trained, doing well with potty training and is learning to walk on a leash. April would do well in a home with a yard and a young, playful companion dog to romp around with. Someone who has the time, patience and understands the exercise and training needs of a young puppy would be ideal. April is a little sweetheart who is waiting for her forever home. Story
Lainey is a sweet, 9 pound Chihuahua mix estimated to be born around 2/2024. She is an agile climber and loves to run. She wants you to know she is the fastest zoomier in town, hands down. She came from a hoarding situation and she and her sisters were very unsocialized, but not aggressive, when they came into rescue. Lainey warmed up quickly to her foster mom and seeks out attention, a lap cuddle and pets. She is still shy when first meeting strangers, but treats go a long way. She is a typical barky chihuahua. She barks when she’s protecting her loved ones from “bad guys”, nervous or excited, so her family has to be okay with that. She enjoys playing with the small breed puppies in her foster home, but can be guardy with food and toys. Shes doing great with potty training with regular reminders. She barks at cats, so it’s better for her to be in a cat-free home. She would do best in a home with another friendly, playful dog. Lainey would prefer a family that is home the majority of the day. She needs a secure, zoomie worthy yard. She would do best with children over 10, who are respectful and understand how to be gentle and patient with a shy dog. Story
Carly is a darling little chihuahua mix puppy. She was born around 4/15/24, is currently 7 lbs and expected to be 10-12lbs full grown. We would love to try to find a home for her and his brother, Cash, together, but if not she will need a playful pooch to romp around with. Carly is affectionate, cuddly and playful. She loves to romp around playing chase and tug with her dog buddies. She truly enjoys the swim pond on warm days. She will splash and play in the water, is a good little swimmer and likes to float on a raft. She loves her stuffed toys, anything with a squeaker and snuggly beds. Carly is crate trained but has always been crated in the same large crate with her brother Cash. She is doing well with house training and is beginning leash training. She can be shy with strangers but has shown she will warm up with slow introductions. She becomes attached to her humans and likely would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours. She likes to be a large part of her family’s life and enjoys being included in daily activities. She will happily follow her humans around the house and yard. In the evening she likes to cuddle on the couch with her people and dog buddies. She currently lives with dogs of various ages and sizes and does well with them. She seems to do best with playful small dogs or friendly, medium and large dogs who won’t bully her. She also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them but she might challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Due to her small size young children would likely overwhelm her so only dog savvy children over 12 are recommended. She is an alert barker and loves a yard so no apartments for her. Carly would do best with someone who understands the training and energy needs of a young puppy. She would like a yard and a friendly, playful dog companion to romp around with, help show her the ropes and keep her company while her humans are away from home. Carly is a sweet little puppy who is a joy to foster and is patiently waiting for her forever home. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group.
