Story
Meet Gretchen   Gretchen was found on the side of a road in Houston — underweight, limping, and clearly neglected. She tested positive for heartworm and was later found to have a fracture in her front leg. With the shelter overcrowded and her life at risk, she was pulled to safety and given the chance she so desperately deserved.   Since then, Gretchen has come a long way. She’s gained healthy weight, her coat has fully grown back, and she’s feeling good. A recent vet recheck shows her leg is healing, though she will likely always have a slight limp and may develop arthritis later in life. It doesn’t slow her down — she’s comfortable, happy, and enjoys her daily routines.   Gretchen is a gentle, affectionate girl who can be timid at first, but once she feels safe, she loves deeply. She does well with calm dogs and gentle kids, and her favorite thing is snuggling close to her people.   Gretchen is now ready for a patient, loving home where she can continue to blossom.   Her care has included heartworm treatment, x-rays, and ongoing orthopedic monitoring. Story
Meet Muneca   Muneca is a sweet, 6-year-old spayed Chihuahua mix who is now settling into a foster home in Colorado and showing us just how special she is. After everything she’s been through, she’s finally getting the chance to relax—and her gentle, loving personality is shining through.   Muneca does well with other dogs her size or smaller, but bigger dogs make her uncomfortable, so she’d prefer a home without large canine companions. She’s curious about cats and will observe them with interest, but she’s not aggressive at all. With children, Muneca enjoys calm snuggle time and being close, though she tends to retreat when things get loud or chaotic.   This little girl is sensitive and tender-hearted. She is wary of men and clearly feels safest around women, especially those who move slowly, speak softly, and offer patience. Her dream home would be with an older woman or a quiet adult who can spend most of their time with her and make her feel secure and cherished.   Muneca is heartworm positive, but treatment is very manageable, and she will happily repay your care with loyalty, cuddles, and constant companionship. She’s ready to spend her golden years exactly where she belongs—by someone’s side, never overlooked again.   Apply to adopt Muneca: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/16519/generic   Muneca has waited long enough. She’s ready to be someone’s whole world. ##2561495##
