A gentle nine-year-old Italian Greyhound/Jack Russell Terrier mix currently in Fuquay-Varina, NC, whose petite 14-pound tricolor frame carries a lifetime of devotion and tender companionship, and who is now seeking a new loving home after the heartbreaking passing of her beloved pet parent. This sweet senior girl has spent her years being a steady, loving presence, even sharing her calming spirit as a therapy dog in hospitals and schools.
Luna is the definition of a constant companion! She adores curling up on a warm lap, resting her delicate head against her favorite person, and soaking in every soft word and gentle touch. Low energy and wonderfully intuitive, she knows an impressive list of cues including sit, come, easy, settle, snuggles, night-night, and even zoomy time when it is time for a cheerful little walk. Watching her perk up at the sight of her green screw-together treat ball or hearing scooby snacks announced is pure joy!
She bonds deeply with one primary caregiver, happily sharing affection with the rest of the family once she feels secure. Luna is house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She thrives in a calm, loving home where someone is present most of the time, as being alone can make her uneasy. With patience, positive reinforcement, and crate training support, she will continue to blossom.
Luna is compatible with calm dogs and friendly with cats, though she prefers companions who have confident, gentle temperaments. If she is nestled on a lap, she can become protective of that cozy spot, but thoughtful introductions and simple seating arrangements help everyone relax together.
