Meet Snickers and Snowy! Snickers and Snowy are 3 year old small mixed breeds that were saved from the same commercial breeding facility in Lancaster County. They were given up because this particular puppy mill has decided to shut down 🥳🥳 These handsome young men, Snowy and Snickers, have lived their whole lives together and are bonded and would love to go to their furever home together. Snickers is a small pup with a huge fun personality, and Snowy is learning about love and trust in his foster home and has come a long way! They are both doing very well in their foster home, and love their other canine foster siblings! We are confident that he will make a wonderful family member for a very lucky family. As with any puppy mill dog, he will require a family who understands his past and is patient with him. Our surviving breeder dogs are always extremely special, and we promise you there is no love out there that compares to theirs! This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Meet Bobo! Bobo is an adorable 1-2 year old golden retriever/chihuahua mix (yes you read that right) who came to us as a stray. Bobo was originally found by GoodBoy Dog Recovery. They helped bring him to safety, and then into our care, where he received the medical attention and care that he needed. GoodBoy Dog Recovery is a non-profit organization that helps countless dogs who are lost, alone, and afraid to get back to safety. The dogs they save are both missing from their loving owners and other times, lost with no where to go back to. We are able to help those lost dogs take that next step to find their forever home, and we are very grateful for this partnership that impacts so many dogs in our local community. It takes a village in rescue! We don’t know Bobo’s sorry but we do know he is currently very shut down and shy. He would do best in a home that does not have young children, and can give him the patience he needs to learn to trust people. We will work with him to gain his confidence back, with lots of love and support, while he’s waiting for the perfect family to come along. As with all rescue dogs, he will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with him as he learns to live in a house and around people. Buffy ACCT-A-218754 MUST LEAVE BY 6PM 4/28 Buffy is an 8-year-old male that came in as a stray on 4/26. Finder noted that “she looks sick.” Per exam on 4/26: “Finder said dog is a stray found in woods and looks sick Objective: Pt is nervous with increased RE, large swelling/mass at R perianal area. MM's are light pink, moist with CRT =1. Pt occasionally straining and just producing gas. Weight: 9.32 lbs BCS: 5 - Ideal Respiratory rate: 24 bpm Mm color: Pink Mm touch: Moist Crt: 1 BAR (bright, alert, responsive) Mild pain eyes are cloudy - moderate lenticular sclerosis dental disease but no fully evaluated wnl, R popliteal may be slightly enlarged Heart sounds are muffled but normal HR and sinus rhythm. Crackles were heard on auscultation. Pt has moderate RE when she gets stressed from handling. Started open mouth breathing with audible wheezes at one point(mm's stayed pink). Pt’s abdomen too tense to palpate Likely intact female. L cranial mammary gland is hyperplastic and/or has mass ambulatory x 4, No obvious limping or ortho issues. Sometimes looks weak in hind end but likely secondary to pain/mass on hind end. Pt didn't appreciate legs being pulled out for radiographs. soft, plum sized swelling at the R perianal area, need to r/o mass vs hernia See above re: mammary gland mass Fur along dorsum is thin especially caudally. Excessive flaking and pruritis. Assessment: Full exam of all body systems not performed as focus was on Pt's breathing and hind end issue Had Dr JB help assess radiographs, auscult Pt and assess perianal swelling. Pt made it difficult to get high quality rads and didn't want to continue to stress DDX for RE is open: possible bronchitis aggravated by stress, heart disease less likely After rectal, JB notes that swelling is not a hernia, it appears to be a mass. It's pushing rectum/colon to the side making BM's more difficult but should still be able to void feces.” ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
