Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs to their new home leaving by January 9th 2026 (could be sooner!) to the east coast from where we are located here in Southern California. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Eevee to our trip for the right home! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! Her adoption fee, along with her adopting families share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person with Eevee ultimately finalizing her adoption. Eevee is a purebred Yorkshire Terrier born on 11/22/24, and she truly lives up to her nickname — a tiny little bean 🫘 with the gentlest, most tender soul. She currently weighs 4.5 lbs. Yes, she is full grown and at a very healthy weight 💕 From the moment Eevee entered our care, it was clear that she is something truly special. She is calm, soft-hearted, loving, and naturally serene — not high energy in the slightest. Eevee has a quiet presence that feels soothing and grounding. She prefers closeness over chaos, companionship over commotion, and gentle affection over constant stimulation. She is happiest simply being near her person, soaking in love and offering it back effortlessly. Eevee is a sweetheart in every sense of the word. She is gentle with her body, her movements, and her heart. She enjoys being held, carried, and cuddled, and she forms deep bonds with her people. Her temperament is steady, peaceful, and incredibly endearing, making her an ideal companion for someone seeking a calm, nurturing relationship with their dog. She does wonderfully with other dogs, though due to her very small size, we keep her interactions limited to dogs close in size to ensure her safety and comfort. Eevee is crate trained, though she currently sleeps in an enclosed area with her bed at night and does beautifully with that routine. She is flexible and will adapt easily to whatever sleeping arrangement her new home prefers. Leash training is brand new for Eevee, as her prior owners carried her everywhere, but she is approaching it with patience and curiosity and is already learning that the world can feel safe from the ground as well. With consistency and gentle guidance, she will continue to build confidence. Eevee is pad trained and understands them very well. She will also potty outside when accompanied and supported and will thrive with a consistent schedule if outdoor pottying is preferred. She is equally content continuing to use pads in the home, making her adaptable to many living situations. Eevee is excellent at the groomers and handles grooming routines with calm cooperation, making coat maintenance a positive experience rather than a stressful one. She also loves road trips of any length and settles beautifully in the car, whether it’s a short errand or a long journey. She is the kind of companion who is happy simply being along for the ride. Eevee came to us deeply loved. Her previous owner adored her immensely, but between running a business and managing children’s busy sports schedules before and after school, life became increasingly fast-paced. Wanting the very best for Eevee — and never wanting her to feel alone or overlooked — they made the selfless decision to entrust her to us so she could find a home where her time, attention, and gentle heart could be fully cherished. Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/eevee It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip and registration, veterinary exam, and the months of care, grooming, training, and love she has received while with us. Eevee has been officially cleared by our veterinarian for adoption. Eevee is a rare and precious little soul — calm, devoted, affectionate, and endlessly loving. She is ready for a home that moves gently through life, values quiet moments, and understands the beauty of a dog whose greatest joy is simply being close to the person she loves. 💕 Photos are before and after her spa day 💕

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs to their new home leaving by January 9th 2026 (could be sooner!) to the east coast from where we are located here in Southern California. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Daisy Mae and Fae to our trip for the right home/homes! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! Their adoption fees, along with their adopting families share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person with the girls ultimately finalizing their adoptions. Daisy Mae and Fae are sweet little sisters—Yorkie/Maltese mixes (Morkies)—born on 7/15/25, and already bringing so much joy into our days. These girls are happy, confident, and full of life, with tails that never stop wagging and hearts that are clearly meant to love deeply. They currently weigh 5–6 lbs each, and we expect them to mature around 10–12 lbs full grown. Both girls will be fully up to date on vaccines upon their adoption, including DA2PP, Bordetella, and Rabies. They have already received fecal testing (we had a fecal test sent to the lab to check for any worms and the results came back negative to all of them,) are both microchipped, and have been issued an official health certificate from our veterinarian that will go home with them. Because they are still very young, they will be placed on spay contracts, allowing them to reach full physical maturity before sterilization—this is the healthiest choice for their long-term wellbeing. Although Daisy Mae and Fae are sisters, they are not being adopted together. They are wonderfully independent from one another and will absolutely flourish as the cherished princess in their own homes. That said, they are great with other dogs, would enjoy a playful canine companion, and were raised with a cat—so a kitty friend would be just fine too. Their story began with a family who loved them dearly and had them from just 8 weeks old. A trusted family friend owned the parents, and the intention was for the girls to grow up together. Unfortunately, as life and schedules became overwhelming, it became clear that raising two puppies properly required more time and structure than they could give. Wanting to do right by the girls and avoid making a rushed or unsafe rehoming decision, they reached out to us so Daisy Mae and Fae could have the very best chance at finding the right homes this time around. These girls are pure joy. They love to play—with toys, with each other, and especially with their people. They are affectionate, social, attentive (even at such a young age), and very well-handled. They adore being held and genuinely enjoy snuggle time—those cuddle sessions are the real deal. They were raised with love, consistency, and attention, and it truly shows in their temperaments. They are pad trained and clearly understand how to use them, while also learning a consistent outdoor potty schedule. We strongly recommend continuing both to support their progress and prevent any setbacks. Leash training will be new, but these little socialites are eager explorers, and it will quickly become another fun adventure for them. At night, they are transitioning from an open play yard with a bed to an enclosed crate, and they are adjusting very well. Whoever is lucky enough to add Daisy Mae or Fae to their life will be gaining a devoted companion—a little soul who will love deeply, trust fully, and bring joy every single day. Their adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of their adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/daisy-mae-fae-1 This fee covers their vaccines, fecal testing, exam with our veterinarian, microchip/registarion, health certificate, and grooming costs once both girls recieve their final vaccines. With puppies, the majority of care and cost happens early and all at once. In a very short period of time, they require multiple rounds of vaccines, fecal testing and potential treatments, microchipping, frequent veterinary visits, health certificates, and constant monitoring during critical developmental stages. Beyond medical care, puppies need daily structure, hands-on potty training, crate introduction, socialization, and consistent routines to help shape them into stable, confident adult dogs. While adult dogs leave us with completed medical procedures such as spay or neuter already done, puppies require everything to be built from the ground up—medically, behaviorally, and emotionally. The time, care, and resources invested during these early months are significant, which is why puppy adoption fees often reflect a level similar to adult dogs. That investment ensures each puppy leaves healthy, well-started, and fully supported as they transition into their forever home.

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs to their new home leaving by January 9th 2026 (could be sooner!) to the east coast from where we are located here in Southern California. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Alfie to our trip for the right home! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! His adoption fee, along with his adopting families share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person with Alfie ultimately finalizing his adoption. From the moment Alfie arrived in our arms at just eight weeks old, it was clear he was a little soul who had already been deeply loved. His prior owner brought him to us with a very heavy heart. After losing her husband and suddenly becoming the only caretaker in her home, she realized that although her desire for companionship was strong, the timing simply wasn’t right for her to take on the needs of a growing puppy. Wanting only the very best future for him, she made the brave and loving choice to entrust him to us so he could find the life she wished she could give him. And truly… this little boy is something special. Alfie is a purebred Miniature Poodle with a soft, beautiful coat and a naturally sweet, intuitive nature. He currently weighs 6 lbs and is expected to mature around 10–12 lbs—small enough to be the perfect lap companion, but sturdy enough to join you in your day-to-day adventures. His temperament is remarkable: affectionate, bright, deeply social, and so eager to bond. He is one of those rare puppies who wears joy so naturally that you feel it simply by being in his presence. He adores people and naturally gravitates toward connection—cuddling against you during quiet moments, gently curling up beside you at night, or following you from room to room as if every part of your world fascinates him. He sleeps beautifully in bed with you, but he is also crate trained and will settle comfortably if a crate-at-night routine fits better in your home. Around other dogs, Alfie shines just as brightly. He is playful, respectful, and wonderfully social—one of those dogs who instantly makes friends wherever he goes. He’s been fantastic at the groomers, enjoys little road trips around town, and carries an innate curiosity that will make exploring the world alongside him truly special. House training is going wonderfully so far. He follows a reliable schedule every couple of hours and also understands puppy pads if needed. Leash training has just begun now that his vaccines are complete, and given his intelligence and eagerness to please, we expect he’ll catch on quickly. He is very much a puppy ready to step confidently into the world. His adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/alfie It covers all of his veterinary care to date (vaccines, microchip/registration, fecal testing, deworming, his full exam, and his issued health certificate), as well as the months of care, meals, grooming upkeep, and the early training foundation he has received with us. Every adoption directly supports our ability to continue rescuing and preparing dogs like Alfie for the beautiful lives they deserve. Alfie is one of those puppies who feels like a gift the moment you meet him—soft-hearted, emotionally attuned, and overflowing with the kind of warmth that makes a home feel fuller and brighter. Whoever opens their heart to him will be gaining a lifelong friend who gives his whole heart in return.
