Story
Duchess and her brother were purchased as a puppy by an elderly woman, who unfortunately fell victim to dementia. The two siblings had no one to take care of and were often found roaming the streets in search of food. Finally, the brother died. His frail body could not take it anymore. Duchess was left to fend for herself, until she found a loving foster home and SSS rescued her. Duchess is 11 years old Afghan Hound, who is about 45 lb, current on her shots, heartworm negative and now being kept on heartworm and flea preventative. She is also spayed and microchipped. It is evident that she was very well taken care of until her former owner's health started declining. She is very social and thrives on human attention. She doesn’t jump up onto people. She loves to cuddle. She’s regal and she carries herself that way. She is very loving, and considers herself a lap dog. She quietly lays next to or on her foster mom, while she works on her computer. Despite being 11, she is very playful with her toddler human sister, and also loves to run around their yard. Although she lives with dogs and cats in her current foster home, we prefer her going to a home without any other pet, to minimize her stress and get her the full attention and affection that she deserves Duchess is not only potty trained but also crate trained, making her a well-behaved and low-maintenance companion. She is eager to please and is very obedient. Duchess is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. Story
Meet adorable and active Annie! This Lurcher girl is between 5- 6 years old and was rescued by the American Lurcher Project. Annie weighs approximately 60 pounds. She is a very energetic girl and definitely needs a house with a yard. Annie is outgoing, intelligent and mischievous! Annie is food- motivated food and loves her blankets and playing. Annie adores her chin scratches and everything outdoors. She’ll make a great exercise partner as she digs walking, running and hiking. Annie needs a high energy adopter like herself. Annie lived in a very small apartment and even though the people walked her 3 to 5 miles a day, they just couldn’t wear her out. Annie needs to be an only dog because she is way too energetic for most other dogs and plays very roughly. Annie should not go to a home with children. She is a resource guarder and sees the children as competition for her things and food. Annie also has Separation Anxiety that had improved before the Pandemic but now that everyone is home all the time, she is back to square one. The owners did work with a behaviorist and some behaviors have improved. Bless her little heart, Annie likely has some of these issues as she was confined to a very small space all the time. Annie is such a great girl and really deserves a chance! Annie is very routine oriented and can be anxious if the routine is disturbed. She responds well to mental stimulation as well as physical. And that’s a great way to wear her out! Annie would be a great agility dog or some other activity that really makes her think. Miss Annie is ready to meet you at Greyhound Pets in Woodinville. She is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. For questions, please email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com or for an adoption application, go to: https://www.greyhoundpetsinc.org/adopt/adoption-guide/. You really have to meet this outgoing and truly amazing girl!

Story
Beautiful brindle mix Lilly is smart, curious, playful and affectionate. She dearly loves ear and neck rubs! Lilly is very smart and intuitive and will look up to watch birds and airplanes fly. Treat puzzles are not difficult for her and she loves them. Lilly enjoys a good run and playing fetch, but also likes to just hang out with you. She walks very well on leash and loves her daily walks. She does like to sniff and check out her surroundings – and walks through the woods and hikes are a favorite of hers. Lilly has a little bit of a prey drive so we do not recommend her with young children. On walks she rarely reacts to other dogs unless the other dog is wound up and reactive. Lilly loves a romp in the sun followed by a belly rub. Lilly would do best in a home with a fenced yard as an only dog, and without cats. She is eager to learn and enjoys working and learning with our volunteers/trainer. Lilly comes with 4 training sessions with our trainer. To meet this amazing and charismatic 4 year old Lilly, please email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com.

Story
Amazing 4-year-old Rey is delightful and upbeat. She is very playful and friendly - and absolutely adores people. Rey loves to give hugs and get belly rubs. Rey can come out the gate fast (she is a strong girl), but she calms down quickly with clear guidance from you, her leader. Rey is eager to learn and our trainers are working with her. She’s such a very smart girl!!! Rey loves her walks and is very good on a leash and very good walking with you. She is good passing by other dogs and jumps right in the car. She’s ready for any adventure! Rey has a good nose on her and loves to track - she would be a great dog to do some scent work with to keep her occupied. Rey would do best in an active home with no small dogs, cats or young children. She is vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed. Rey is a great companion for you and your active family with older children. She’s so ready to meet you! Please contact Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com. You just have to meet her!
