Story
Meet Kimba! DOB: January 2024Weight: 62lbsDisposition: Calm, confident, sweetHistory: Kimba was rescued from an abusive situation along with her sister, Lola. After a difficult start, she is ready for a safe, loving home where she can settle in and enjoy being part of a family.Amazing Qualities: Kimba has the perfect balance of confidence and sweetness. She’s friendly with people and dogs, has a calm presence, and enjoys being around her friends without needing to be the center of attention. She also has a playful side and loves having something to chase, giving her plenty of personality and making playtime that much more fun. After everything she’s been through, Kimba is ready for the simple things she deserves: a safe home, a loving family, and lots of time to just be a happy dog.Best Home: Kimba would be a wonderful fit for an adult home or a family without young children. She has a medium energy level and enjoys spending time with both people and other dogs. She has a natural instinct to chase, so she’ll especially enjoy a family that can give her plenty of opportunities for interactive play, enrichment, and getting outside.Interested in adopting? If you're interested in meeting Kimba, please visit our website to fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adopt. Our dogs are located in San Diego County, CA. We will happily consider out of town applications and can conduct virtual play dates with interested adopters. We have monthly transport to various locations in the Pacific Northwest, individual arrangements would need to be made for other locations across the US and Canada.About Angeles en CaminoThis dog is part of Angeles en Camino ("Angels on the Way"), a cross-border rescue mission bringing adoptable dogs from Manzanillo, Mexico, to loving homes in Southern California. Sponsored by the Mayor's Office of Manzanillo and made possible through a partnership between Animal Angels ZLO and The Barking Lot, this initiative gives vulnerable dogs a second chance at life while connecting two communities through rescue. To initiate the adoption process for this dog, please complete our online application by clicking below. They both were abandoned in an empty house and were starving and thirsty. They are very friendly with kids, people, other dogs and cats as well. He is about 10 months old. He is also crate trained. He has received all his 3 main core puppy vaccinations, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these fur babies! Due to high volume of calls; NO PHONE calls are accepted at this time - therefore, please text us or email us.- A minute of conscious - Please read:) We ask you Please to be SERIOUS adopters; as there have been so many people that are not ready. We set up meet & greet appointments, do a home visit or send them the address for some meet & greet locations, paperwork and suddenly they said they are not ready or spouse is not ready, etc. These fur kids have a very hard day the day of their appointment. Due to travelling we hold their food, so they won't get car sick. We bath them, some of them are schedule for grooming as you know it is stressful for them; then they have to travel with us picking up other rescued fur kids, and so on, it is a very stressful hard day for them for people to just cancel at last minute or not show up or do show up and just say they are not ready. Our time as well as your time is valuable. Please don't waste valuable time that is so precious for a rescued pet. Every single wasted time is a time that an animal will die because we didn't get to them on time to help them. In addition, of wasting gas and grooming fees which are paid by volunteers. Please take the time to put your shoes in the shoes of the volunteer and most of it to put your shoes on our rescued fur kids!! Please take a minute to tell yourself if you are ready to adopt and for this commitment. LIVE!! LOVE!! LAUGH!!
