Story
MEET JASPER —Your new Frisbee buddy!Jasper is a friendly and exuberant 18 month old Idaho Shag. Idaho Shags are mixed-breed dogs bred primarily as rugged ranch and livestock dogs. They are typically a mix of Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, Airedale Terrier, and Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) or Kelpie. Jasper weighs approximately 40 lbs.Jasper is looking for an active adopter, someone who has time to give him the attention, interaction, and exercise that he needs. Jasper has been living in a family with three small children but unfortunately wasn’t getting enough exercise. He is crate trained. He’s had no formal training, but you can see in the videos that he is learning fast. He will chase anything that moves fast, if given the opportunity. He hasn’t been exposed to horses or farm animals and will chase cats. He will jump up on people, but that can be trained. Given his jumping, we will not place him in a home with small children or older adults. He is upset by loud noises such as fireworks but settles down once crated. He has shown dog reactivity in his foster’s house, so should be an only dog.Jasper will thrive with an experienced person who could set some boundaries.THE REST OF THE IMPORTANT DETAILSJasper is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. He is currently being fostered in Redmond, OR. His adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in adopting Jasper and are pre-approved, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com. If you are not already approved, you can fill out an application here: https://www.herduneededahome.com/adopting-with-hunah-1
