Story
Meet Lucy, a pup whose night-and-day transformation might bring tears to your eyes.  A few months ago when Lucy was found alone at an RV park, you wouldn’t have even recognized her. She was covered in mange, underweight and very uncomfortable. Thankfully a kind person kept her safe, sought medical help and never gave up on her. A foster home took Lucy in a month later. As her fluffy coat has continued to fill in, Lucy has also been doing internal work: learning to walk on a leash, learning to come into the house, learning to enjoy being petted. Lucy has made great strides and is now an absolute joy in a pint-sized package. She’s approximately 26 pounds at 7 months old and seems to be growing at a very slow pace. Her breed test showed that she’s a mix of large and small breeds. Great Pyrenees and Husky were the top two breeds, but she also had some small amounts of Chihuahua, rat terrier and miniature schnauzer. The breed test predicted her full grown weight could be as low as 33 pounds.  Lucy absolutely adores other dogs and would love a doggy companion in her forever home. She looks so happy when she’s outside playing a game of chase with her foster puppy friend Linus. But Lucy isn’t an overly energetic puppy, so even the old grumpy dogs don’t mind having her around.  Lucy will need a patient owner who will give her time to feel comfortable. New situations and new people still make Lucy nervous, but she has become very comfortable in her foster home where she takes naps on her back in hopes she might get a belly rub. Lucy now seeks out attention, but she would never jump on you trying to get it. She’s very polite and well behaved in the house.  Lucy is fully potty trained and loves being in her crate. It was her safe spot while she worked up the courage to fully incorporate into her foster family.  Lucy has had quite the journey, and we want to find a forever home that’s perfect for her. Story
Sweet Pebbles is the last puppy from her litter still waiting for a family to call her own, and we know her perfect match is out there. Born at the end of May, Pebbles is everything you love about puppyhood—playful, curious, affectionate, and always ready for fun. She has a joyful spirit and a love for toys, especially anything that squeaks! Whether she’s chasing a ball, proudly carrying her favorite stuffed toy around the house, or making everyone laugh with her silly puppy antics, Pebbles knows how to bring smiles wherever she goes. After she’s burned off some puppy energy, she’s happiest curled up beside her people, soaking up all the cuddles she can get. She has the sweetest heart and is ready to form a lifelong bond with the family lucky enough to call her their own. Pebbles is at the perfect age to learn, explore, and grow alongside her forever family. With love, patience, and positive training, she’ll blossom into a loyal companion who will fill your days with laughter, adventures, and unconditional love. She’s watched her brothers and sisters head off to begin their new lives, and now it’s her turn. We can’t wait for the day Pebbles packs her bags and heads home with the family she’s been waiting for. Story
🎵 “If you’ll be my Honeysuckle, I’ll be your Honeybee…” 🎵 Just like her name, Honeybee is pure sweetness. At just 3½–4 months old, this fluffy golden girl is already stealing hearts. With her adorable white markings, oversized paws, and extra puppy skin, she’s still growing into herself—and she’s going to be one stunning dog when she does. Honeybee’s rescue story began when she was found wandering aimlessly down the middle of a dangerous road with no homes nearby. A kind-hearted Good Samaritan, who had sadly seen far too many animals meet tragic ends on that same stretch of road, stopped to bring her to safety. Honeybee had no microchip, and no one ever came looking for her. Their loss is most definitely someone else’s incredible gain. Since arriving in foster care, Honeybee has settled in beautifully. She’s never met a stranger and believes everyone—whether they have two legs or four—is a potential new best friend. She loves romping and wrestling with her foster dog siblings, happily joins in family life with kids and teenagers, and when playtime is over, she crashes hard and sleeps like a rock. She’s already crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is learning all the important puppy manners. She’s figuring out that jumping up to say hello isn’t necessary and that just because the kitchen counter smells amazing doesn’t mean it’s a buffet! Honeybee is smart, eager to learn, and loves to please. She’s playful and confident without being bossy, happily holding her own with the other dogs in her foster home. Like any puppy her age, she’ll need a family committed to continuing her training, giving her plenty of exercise, and helping her grow into the amazing dog she’s destined to become. In return, you’ll get a loyal, goofy, affectionate—and most likely very large—best friend who will fill your home with laughter, adventures, and unconditional love. If you’ve been looking for your own little Honeybee, we think she’s been looking for you, too. 🐝💛 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
