Story
Princess is a stunning 2-year-old Great Pyrenees with a strong, independent nature and a lot of potential in the right home. She came in with Luna, but we’ve been told she prefers to be the only animal, as she isn’t a fan of other dogs or cats. The shelter environment has her feeling pretty nervous right now, but with patience and understanding, her sweet side begins to show. Princess is the kind of dog who needs time to feel safe—but once she does, she has the ability to form a deep and meaningful bond. She would do best in a home where she can spend most of her time outdoors, as she isn’t used to indoor living. While she is a livestock breed, we were told she was kept on a lead while out on the property and was not actively guarding, so we’re unsure how she would do with livestock. Because of this, any introductions should be approached thoughtfully and with care. Princess also has a bit of an adventurous streak and may try to wander, so a very secure setup is essential to keep her safe. She’s looking for a confident, experienced owner who understands guardian breeds and is willing to give her the structure, space, and patience she needs to thrive. In the right environment, Princess has all the makings of a loyal, devoted companion who will truly shine once she feels at home.

Story
Luna is a beautiful 2-year-old Great Pyrenees with a gentle spirit and an independent nature. She came in with another dog, but we’ve been told she prefers to be the only pet in the home, as she isn’t a fan of other dogs or cats. Right now, Luna is feeling pretty nervous in the shelter, taking her time to adjust to all the new sights and sounds. But underneath that uncertainty is a sweetheart who just needs patience and a calm environment to feel safe and start to open up. Once she does, her soft, kind personality begins to shine through. Luna would do best in a home where she can spend most of her time outdoors, as she isn’t used to indoor living. While Great Pyrenees are known as livestock guardian dogs, Luna was reportedly kept on a lead while outside and wasn’t actively guarding, so it’s unknown how she would do with livestock. Slow, careful introductions would be important if that’s a consideration. She also has a bit of an adventurous side and may try to wander, so a secure, well-fenced area is a must to keep her safe. Luna is looking for an experienced, patient home that understands her needs and will give her the time and space she deserves. With the right person, Luna has all the potential to grow into a loyal and loving companion who will truly thrive once she feels at home.
