Meet Fauna 🦌This beautiful girl is Fauna. We believe her to be an Anatolian Shepherd mix of sorts, and it definitely shows. Someone with some experience with the breed or with livestock guardian dogs as a whole would be best for her. She’s skittish around strangers and seems to particularly distrust men. That being said, she isn’t outwardly aggressive. She just barks and is skittish. Aside from that, she’s a very good girl. She’s still pretty much a puppy, and she has the energy to prove it. She likes to run and she likes to play. She’s also very intelligent, as one would expect from such a breed. If she isn’t going to be adopted to be used as a working dog (like a livestock guardian dog) she will definitely need a lot of enrichment, both physical and mental. She also will need a lot of space that she can have to run around. Due to her breed, it would likely be best that she not be around cats. Dogs though? She’s selective with the ones she gets along with, but she can be friendly with some. Anatolian Shepherds are bred specifically to be protective of their home and their family, and to be wary and skittish of strangers. While we have no clue if she is a purebred or fullbred, she definitely has the appearance and personality of one. If you’re interested in Fauna, some research into the breed would be greatly beneficial. She’s a great dog with boundless potential to be an amazing dog if given the proper training and work. 🐾
