Story
Meet Brutus! Brutus is a purebred 1.5 year old Great Pyrenees who has been "working" as an LGD all of his life (we adopted at 8 weeks old). He has experience with sheep, cows and horses, but has not been exposed to chickens or ducks in his area of protection. Brutus is excellent with other dogs, with the exception of our senior GP LGD. We rescued our senior GP LGD several years ago, and he has worked diligently to protect our farm. He and Brutus got along great for a while, but then Brutus became very aggressive with him and we do not have the farm setup to keep them separate. Brutus gets along fine with our other dogs, but is defensive in his pasture over other dogs. He would work fantastically as an independent guard dog, especially with sheep, cows or horses. Brutus has excellent recall, knows "leave it" if he becomes a little too playful with the sheep or cows (he is still young), and we have not had any issues with him getting out of his pasture. Also is great with our kids!!
