Story
Meet Davey! Five months old, fluffy, happy and ready to find his forever family — what more could you ask for? Davey is a 5-month-old Pyrenees mix who is an all-around wonderful pup. He’s happy, social and well-rounded, with that perfect puppy personality that is sure to bring his new family years and years of love, laughter and adventures. Even better, this little guy has already been putting in the work! Over the past couple of weeks, Davey has been spending time with a wonderful young lady who has worked hard on helping him build good manners. He’s been learning how to interact appropriately with other dogs and, importantly, that there’s no need to guard his food from people or his canine friends. He has made great progress and has a wonderful foundation for his new family to continue building on. Of course, Davey is still only five months old, so his new family should be ready for all the fun that comes with raising a puppy — training, consistency, patience and plenty of adventures as he grows. And being a Pyrenees mix, there may be quite a bit of growing left to do! Davey’s adoption fee is $400, which includes a $100 neuter deposit. He has been started on his vaccination schedule and is microchipped. If you’re looking for a happy, lovable pup to grow up alongside your family, Davey just might be your guy. Head to our website to submit your adoption application and come meet Davey!

Meet Bear – A Big Boy with an Even Bigger Smile! If happiness had four paws and a wagging tail, we are pretty sure it would look just like Bear! Bear is a 1½-year-old neutered male Great Pyrenees mix who has never met a stranger. This handsome boy has an infectious smile, a heart full of love, and enough enthusiasm to brighten even the gloomiest day! Bear absolutely adores people, and sometimes his excitement gets the better of him. He just has so much love to give that he occasionally forgets how big he is! For that reason, we think a home with older children might be the best fit for this lovable goofball. So far, Bear hasn't shown any reaction to the other dogs walking past his kennel, which is encouraging! If you already have a canine family member, we would arrange a meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along before heading home together. At just a year and a half old, Bear has plenty of youthful energy and a whole lifetime of love ahead of him. He's looking for a family who will embrace his big personality, enjoy his enthusiasm for life, and give him all the love and adventures he deserves. Bear's adoption fee is $300. He is neutered, has been started on his vaccination schedule, and is microchipped. Think you have room in your home and your heart for this big, happy boy? Head to www.mjhs.ca, click on the Adopt tab, select Adoptable Animals, and scroll until you find his handsome, smiling face to submit your application. Because with a smile like Bear's, how could you possibly have a bad day?

Story
Meet Liro – A Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold! At 8 years and 9 months young, Liro never imagined he would be looking for a new family in his golden years. But sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and when his family's busy schedule no longer allowed them to give him the time and attention he deserved, they made the difficult decision to surrender him to our care. Liro is a handsome Kuvasz, a livestock guardian breed similar to the Great Pyrenees, and he is every bit as sweet as he looks! When Liro arrived, he wasn't neutered. At his age, we wanted to make sure we were making the best decision for his health. After consulting with our veterinarian and receiving excellent results from his bloodwork, we decided to go ahead with the surgery to eliminate the risk of testicular cancer. And wouldn't you know it, this handsome senior sailed through surgery with flying colours! You may notice that Liro has a cataract in his left eye. Our veterinarian has examined it and isn't concerned. We think it just adds a little character to that beautiful face! Here's the part that tugs at our hearts. We've had a wonderful year of finding homes for senior pets, but we know that sometimes the older ones get overlooked. The puppies get the attention, the youngsters get the applications, and the seniors are left waiting, wondering when it will be their turn. We don't want that for Liro. At almost 9 years old, Liro still has so much love to give. He deserves a family who will make time for him, appreciate his gentle nature, and give him the wonderful retirement years every dog deserves. Liro isn't looking for a lifetime of adventures. He's looking for a family to spend the rest of his lifetime loving. Liro's adoption fee is $300. He is neutered, has had bloodwork completed, is started on his vaccination schedule, and is microchipped. Head to our website www.mjhs.ca - Adopt - Adoptable Animals and scroll to his handsome face to submit your application.
