Story
Rosie is a beautiful Akbash with an incredibly sweet nature and a deep love for companionship. She is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she has space to move, explore, and be part of everyday life. While Akbash dogs are traditionally used as livestock guardian dogs, Rosie has shown that her personality is much more companion-oriented. She is **not being placed as a working livestock guardian dog**. Rosie was surrendered because she preferred companionship and interaction over independent guarding work, and she is looking for a home where she can simply be loved for who she is. Rosie especially enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion with a similar play style and energy level. She thrives in environments where she has freedom of movement and room to decompress. Rosie does not do well in highly confined settings and will be happiest in a home with appropriate outdoor access and space to roam safely. Because she is athletic and capable of scaling high fences, adopters should be prepared to provide secure accommodations and thoughtful management suited to guardian breeds. As a large-breed dog, Rosie will need a family that understands the intelligence and independence often seen in guardian breeds. Her future home should be prepared for the commitment, management, and environmental setup that comes with a dog like Rosie. Rosie is looking for a home that will appreciate her gentle spirit, playful side, and unique needs — a place where she can feel secure, stay active, and truly thrive. 🐾 **If you’re interested in adopting Rosie, please apply online to be considered:** 👉 [https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AHTN/Dog] 🏡 **Open Hours:** Tuesday – Saturday | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Story
**Meet Asher 🐾** Asher is a big, handsome young dog with a friendly personality and a lot of potential. At just over a year old, he’s still growing into himself and learning how to navigate the world, but he already enjoys people, activity, and being part of a routine. He does well meeting new people and enjoys outings like walks and time spent exploring. While he’s not especially toy-driven, he stays engaged through interaction and benefits from regular exercise and structured activity. Asher is also **very food-motivated**, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. Asher has received some basic obedience training and responds well to a **confident handler** who can provide clear guidance. He can be excitable at times and may pull on leash, but he looks to his person for direction and continues to make progress with consistency. He currently attends doggy daycare and enjoys playing and socializing with **female dogs**. He is best suited for a home without male dogs, as he can become uncomfortable around them. Dog parks are not recommended, but he can do well in more structured, controlled social settings. Asher is accustomed to grooming and tolerates **baths, brushing, nail trims, and professional grooming** well. He will require regular brushing (2–3 times per week) to maintain his coat. He is also prone to ear infections in one ear, so routine ear care will be important. With cats, Asher shows curiosity but tends to be cautious. He may be able to coexist with a **dog-savvy cat** who maintains boundaries, though supervision and a thoughtful introduction process will be important. Asher’s ideal home will provide **structure, routine, and confident handling**, along with opportunities for continued training and engagement. He is a dog who benefits from clear leadership and consistency, and in return offers a friendly, social presence and a willingness to learn. 📌 **Courtesy Post:** Asher is not an AHHS program animal. He is being shared to help him find a home, and placement will be handled directly with his current owner. 🐾 **If you’re interested in adopting Asher, please apply online to be considered:** 👉 [https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AHTN/Dog]💛
