Story
Hi… I’m Duri 🤍 Before I met kind people, I spent a long time on my own… without care, without warmth. I just endured each day the best I could. But things have changed now. I’ve been given a chance to start over— and I’m waiting for a family to share that new beginning with. Maybe… that could be you. People say I look strong and handsome. My thick fur, my clear eyes… sometimes I remind them of a brown husky. But what I really want you to see isn’t just how I look— It’s who I am. I like people. I really do. I’ll come up to you first, gently, hoping to connect. I enjoy being close, sharing quiet moments, feeling like I belong. I also get along well with other dogs. Being around friends feels natural to me, and I’m comfortable sharing space and energy with them. Inside me, I carry something special— the calm loyalty of an Akita, and the intelligence and quick learning of a Jindo. That means when I bond with you… it won’t be shallow. It will be deep. Steady. Unbreakable. But I’m still learning. Living in a home is new to me. Things like potty training, daily routines, and how to behave indoors—these are things you’ll need to teach me, step by step. Because I’m a strong and active dog, I’ll also need guidance on walks and basic manners. I want to do well—I just need someone to show me how. In the beginning, I might seem a little unsure. A new place, a new life… it can feel overwhelming. But if you stay patient, consistent, and kind with me, I will find my balance. I’m not a difficult dog— but I am a dog who needs understanding. Someone who won’t just “have” me, but will truly live with me. Teach me. Connect with me. If you can do that… I promise you something rare. A bond built on trust. A loyalty that doesn’t fade. A companion who stands by you, no matter what. I’ve already come so far from where I started. Now I just need a place to finally belong. No more loneliness. Just warmth… and you. Will you be my forever family? 🤍

Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Palomo is looking for his perfect home. Palomo has had a hard start in life – wandering with his mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Palomo is a stunning boy who would like a home with outdoor space as he hasn’t been a city dog – though he walks past cars and trucks and even cows without much fuss. Palomo is playful but selective about his dog friends, and visits cats regularly (sometimes with a bit of zeal). He likes cuddles (though doesn’t always want to be rushed by strangers). He is a smart boy who we’d love to see wandering or running free in a big Canadian space! Palomo weighs 50lbs, is neutered, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.

Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Chiquita is looking for her perfect home. Chiquita has had a hard start in life – wandering with her mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Chiquita is one of the most stunning dogs in the sanctuary, with her unique colouring and caramel eyes. She leans in for snuggles, and falls at your feet for belly rubs with guests to the sanctuary trying to get a taste for real life with someone who loves her as their own. Chiquita is playful and enjoys time with the puppies to feed off their youth. She can be selective with certain dogs, which is common for a girl of her age and we think she’d love a home all to herself. We would love to see her enjoying outdoor space in a cooler climate (Mexico is a pretty hot spot for a husky cross!). Chiquita happily visits regularly with cats – at times a bit excited around them. As she’s spent her early life in sanctuary she’s hasn’t had exposure to kids or big crowds. As a bigger girl, we’d love to see her land somewhere outside the big city. Chiquita weighs 55lbs, is spayed, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Story
🏠Currently  in a Toronto  foster home Elsa is a 2-year-old female Husky mix, weighing 23kg. She was rescued just in time from a shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia. Now thriving in her foster home, Elsa has blossomed into a wonderful companion. She is affectionate, intelligent, and full of love—always ready for an outdoor adventure or a cozy cuddle on the couch.Personality & BehaviorElsa absolutely adores people and loves being part of the family. She is incredibly affectionate and happiest when she’s spending time with her humans. She loves meeting new people, including children, and enjoys making new friends wherever she goes. She can still get excited when greeting people and may occasionally jump up to say hello, but she has made wonderful progress and continues to improve every day. She understands the "off" command well and is learning to greet people politely with consistency. One of Elsa’s favorite things is simply being close to her people. She is a true cuddle bug who loves curling up beside her family after a fun day of adventures.Activity & TrainingElsa is a smart and eager learner who enjoys training. She already knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, down, wait, break, spin, twirl, shake a paw, and off.She also understands leave it, allowing her to calmly walk past people, dogs, squirrels, birds, and other distractions without pulling on leash.Elsa has excellent leash manners and enjoys exploring new places. She has even ridden public transit with confidence, calmly greeting people who wanted to say hello and quietly sitting or lying down when others preferred not to interact. As an active Husky mix, Elsa enjoys daily exercise and outdoor adventures. With regular walks, playtime, and mental enrichment, she settles beautifully at home and is an easy companion to live with.Social SkillsElsa has wonderful social skills with other dogs. She enjoys playing and running with them at off-leash dog parks and has excellent manners during play. When she’s ready to head home, she simply walks over to the gate to let her foster family know she’s finished playing.Home LifeElsa has excellent house manners and is completely non-destructive indoors. She is happy to relax, nap, or quietly chew on a bone while spending time at home. She knows how to settle nicely and is a calm, easy dog to live with. The Perfect Home for ElsaElsa will thrive in a home with:✔️ An active family who enjoys spending time outdoors✔️ A family who will continue engaging her through training, adventures, and companionship✔️ Someone with experience with active breeds—or someone willing to learn and provide consistent guidanceElsa has grown into a well-rounded, affectionate, and intelligent companion.
