Story
Lucy is a sweet and adorable girl! She is a 1 year old, 9 pound, tan colored, Chihuahua. She and another dog, we named Ricky were found by a good Samaritan out in the country two months ao. They picked the right person to help them as she has fostered for AFC before! She stepped up for these two and is fostering again. FOSTERING SAVES LIVES! Lucy is looking for her forever home. Her ideal placement is an adult only home. She wants to be the only dog in the home. She needs an owner willing to be patient with her and to socialize her properly. She needs a CALM environment. Her foster mom says she is very timid but very energetic. She is okay with cats. She is mostly house broken but is used to being taken out on a schedule. She will need leash training. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Do you have it in your heart to help a shy pup? With lots of love she should blossom! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. Story
BUSTER comes from a semi-hoarding situation where he spent his entire life from birth in a tiny pet carrier along with his siblings. He has come a long way with socialization and would flourish with the right guardian. He would love to be a lap-dog and also enjoys exploring outside. (Also from the same situation: CHEWY) They are very affectionate and would just like a place to call home and a Person to call family. Since these boys have had to "fight" for lap-space and attention, they have a tendency to mark territory which should die down after they are neutered (part of adoption contract). They are used to using potty pads and have learned to also go outside, but they will all still need some work with potty training. Once they are neutered and have a lap of their own that they don't have to "defend", potty training should be a cinch. This crew also would work really well in a FOSTER home that can give them more socialization, potty training, and household manners such as barking. Specifically, we really NEED A FOSTER during the months of JUNE & JULY while I am out of town for a 7-week dog-training seminar. Please hit us up if you have any interest in BUSTER or his crew! ADOPTION FEE: Cost of neuter at clinic of your choice. Valley Canine Specialists Admin@ValleyCanine.org (209)280-0892
