Story
Meet Mama Kitty! She's the Mom to Boy Kitty and a previous litter of kittens that was adopted out through DGDR earlier this year. Mama Kitty was living life as a stray but was being fed by a kind hearted cat lover. Unfortunately that cat lover got very ill, eventually succumbing to her disease, but her care takers took over caring for Mama Kitty. They worked hard to earn her trust and and now she's living the good life! Mama Kitty is around 3 years old and is such a sweetheart! She is black with a tiny sprinkling of white hairs along the back of her neck. She is a soft shorthair with the most expressive eyes and almost too big for her head, ears. :D This sweet Mama is great with pups, other cats, and not so screamy kids. She will need a little time to adjust like most cats but once she knows its a safe space, she blossoms! It took a little time once she moved into her new foster home but Boy Kitty's extremely outgoing nature helped her open her up so they would love to be adopted together or to a home with another friendly cat. Mama Kitty would prefer a quieter home but is okay with dance parties and knows her routine. When she does get startled, she runs to her cat bed but comes out as soon as she realizes everything is fine. Nothing against screaming toddlers but this damsel is more of a cuppa sipping, lap sitting, bird watching, and comfy place napping type of cat. She's quiet company that will be your best friend and gentle companion. She is a bit of a squeaker like Boy Kitty and will talk to you, letting you know it's time for dinner, she's ready for ear scratchies (or more ear scratchies), and just to say hello. Mama Kitty doesn't love being carried but she will settle into your lap or next to you after she paces back and forth for a bit. She's just looking for someone to give her that chance. If you think that might be you, please let us know by completing an app here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward it to her foster mom who will share all the pictures and talk all things Mama Kitty with you to ensure it's a match. ================================================================== If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test (Dogs) for animals over 7 months old, feline leukemia testing (cats) all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Story
Adoption fee will be to help recoup a small portion of Little Tiger's veterinary costs so that more little ones like him can be saved. He came from a tnr colony at around eight weeks old where we were doing TNR (TNVR). Little Tiger is already neutered, had rabies, fvrcp, and feline leukemia vaccinations, and is feline leukemia/FIV negative. He has had surgery to remove eyelashes that were curling down toward his eye. The procedure has been performed twice on his both eyes and has been cleared by the specialist. Now he needs a furever home to love and care for him. Little Tiger is a very sweet boy and would love to have another cat as a playmate to keep him company. He loves taking naps on anything soft and rips and runs on the rare occasion with one of his foster siblings. He enjoys being held and will do wonderful with some more one on one attention as his foster mom is spread pretty thin. Little Tiger has the cutest face and everyone that meets him thinks he is such a sweet boy.

Story
Gracie is a lovable, timid, playful adult cat who loves to snuggle. Her hair is grey and white. She is in good health and is approximately 9 years old. Gracie would be happy to meet another cat as she used to have a brother, but she would also thrive in a home where she is the sole pet. Her human mom recently passed away on March 23, 2024. Gracie's human mom loved her dearly and her only wish was to have Gracie adopted and rehomed into a loving family.

Story
Kitty needs plenty of snuggle time. He likes to sit in the window sill to look outside. He was found outside my door 3 weeks before Christmas and after posting him for his owners he has not been claimed. I’m not able to car for multiple small animals so I want kitty to go to a loving home. I don’t want to just let him back outside.

Story
Nala is such a sweet girl. Really. I believe if she was by herself or even just with dogs she'd be an angel. Unfortunately, she just doesn't get along with our two elderly cats. We've given her two years to warm to them, and she's still a territorial bully. They're very old too. It's not fair to them to let her be so mean. We've tried everything to keep her and I hate to do this because I really do love her, but I hope we can find her another family that'll love her like we do and maybe she'll be happier not having to share the attention. We have young children and dogs big and small that she coexists fine with. I do, however, believe she'd be happiest in a house where she'd be the only kitty.
