Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $200 plus taxThis small kitty is ready and excited to be someone’s best friend.  She is every friendly and docile.  She loves attention and will get a little vocal if she feels she’s not getting enough.  She will happily lay next to you and lean in with her head for pets and purrs.  Mango doesn’t mind being picked up and carried for short periods.  She is separated from other cats at her foster home, except for her kittens.  While she was initially too busy with motherhood for toys, we have recently seen her playful side peaking out.  She keeps her white and tabby colored coat very clean, uses her litter box well without any accidents, and has been eating both dry and wet food well.  Mango will be happiest in a home with someone who will shower her with love.  If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Meet Onyx! She’s an 8 month old American shorthair and is an absolute sweetheart! She is fully litter trained and knows how to use both clay and pine litter. She does amazing with all other animals and kids/people of all ages. She has nothing but love to give and will definitely let you know with her loud purrs and chatty behavior. I think she would do really well in a home with another cat and with a person who is just as cuddly as she is! I will also include her favorite toys and treats.

Story
Hello my name is Opie. I am a simple farm kitten who is used to city life. I am a snuggly and playful kitty who would love if someone could pay me some attention. Since my humans had a baby they have no time for me. I don’t get any attention, and I’m pretty sad. I live with another cat, Clark, but we are not a bonded pair. Because Clark gets upset when he sees other cats outside, I have learned to be scared of other cats, but with a kind kitty in a nice home I could be friends if I’m given the opportunity to learn not to be scared.

Story
Sasha and I chose each other when she was only 8 weeks old! She has been a Godsend for me these past 9 years, as she returns the love you give her 10 fold over. Sasha has always been very affectionate, social, curious and loves kids and people! She does well with other cats and dogs also as long as the other animals are not hostile/aggressive. Sasha will take a few minutes around any man she doesn't know before warming up, and hides during thunderstorms. She still has her claws, has never had any health issues, but has gained a bit of weight since we moved to an apartment. She loves to snuggle, and if it is cold out, she will want to sleep with you. I have a new lung disease (never smoked in my life) and this is the reason we must now part. She has many more wonderful years ahead of her, and so much joy left to experience and give back too! My friends always describe Sasha in one word: sweet! And I agree of course wholeheartedly.

Story
Hi! I will be moving for graduate school (I am a recently graduated student at UMN), and I need to rehome my cat Syoma ASAP. Unfortunately, the cat fees for my future housing are excessive, and additionally, the nature of my work leaves me to be away from home for most of the day, which is not ideal. Syoma (Male ~ 3 years old) is an incredibly loving cat, he loves cuddles (especially at night), and is well mannered. I adopted him in 2022. He is up to date on shots and vaccines, and is neutered. I do not have medical paper work unfortunately since bringing him from Boston. He has been an indoor cat since I've had him. His ear is clipped from being a stray (from what I've been told) as a small kitten. He is vocal about food at times, and prefers attention. He is not the most independent cat, so if you have kids or other animals, he would be especially happy. He handles plane rides just fine with a little bit of sleepy medicine, though whimpers during some car rides.

Story
Hoot, hoot! My current parents say I'm part owl because I can move my head just like an owl. I'm also a huge love. There's nothing I like better than cuddling and spending time with my humans. I need to be in a home with no other pets since I am aggressive to other cats, which is why I can't stay in my current home. While I would prefer my new parents to be homebodies so we can cuddle together all day, when you should go out, I will greet you when you return and tell you all about my day. I love looking out windows and watching nature. I am also a member of the clean plate club and use my litterbox well. I have a hearing issue that I can't tell where sounds originate. I originally came from a cat colony. I'm about 2 years old and also FIV+, while this won't affect me on a daily basis, my new owners will have to keep an eye on my health since I am considered immunocompromised, but I am worth it. My adoption fee will be donated to a local shelter.
