Story
Simpson is a sweet, gentle 3½-year-old cat that I adopted from a farm in Vermont. He currently has 5 other siblings in his home and gets along very well with all of them. He has a lot of anxiety and that's been possibly causing some intermittent bought of inflammatory issues. He's a very vocal kitty and seems to have a lot of energy. He gets frustrated when you are playing with him and another kitty steps in to play. He would do amazing with small children. I'm really running out of time before I have to place him in the shelter. He needs a home with more stimulation and I think he'd do well as the only cat in the home with a lot of activity as well as safe access to the outdoors. He sits on my 2nd story porch a lot and watches the wildlife. He also needs an experienced adopter and can not live in an apartment. He may be okay with a friendly dog. Thank you.

Story
This is nani, named after the sister in lilo and stitch. I’ve had her since 2020, and she has been such a special part of my life. She is the most loving, affectionate cat—you’ll hear her loud purr the second she’s near you. She always wants to be close, whether that’s curled up in your lap, snuggled next to you in bed, or just following you around the house. She truly just wants to love and be loved.Making this decision has been really hard, but since having my baby, I’m not able to give her the time and attention she deserves. She thrives on affection, and it breaks my heart knowing I can’t be that person for her right now.I’m hoping to find her a home where she will be someone’s constant companion—where she can get all the cuddles, attention, and love she’s used to. She deserves that kind of home.Adoption fee is just to ensure a serious and loving home.

Story
All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step. Meet Maisie! She wandered the busy streets going door to door, searching for someone -anyone- to notice her. Cold, hungry, and desperate for safety, this stray kitten never gave up hope. The moment her rescuer opened their arms, she melted right in, flopping onto them as if she finally knew she was safe and loved. Now this sweet girl spends her day doing what she loves most: loving people with her whole heart. She is endlessly affectionate, happiest curled in your arms, rubbing against you, soaking up every bit of attention she can get. After surviving life alone outside, all she wants now is a warm home and someone to love furever!   All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped. The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only. May 20, 2026, 12:42 pm

Story
Cecil is approximately 4-5 years old, we acquired him when our neighbors moved and left him behind. He is a very sweet boy who loves attention and also loves having alone time. He is good with our 8 month old puppy and our two teenaged daughters. After bringing him in I developed a serious allergy to him that has put us in a position to have to rehome him.
