Story
3yr old M 45lb Athletic endurance for fetch. Catches disc. Knows a few commands. Likely better for a female owner. After 3yrs, he's still ambivalent about me, personally, an adult male. Female sitter says he's a 'cuddlebug'. Would have been a great working dog. Quick learner. Lives inside currently. Adopted from GBHS on Mar15, 2020

Hello! I have been Honee only home since birth. Unfortunately, I’ve had some life changes that no longer allows me to care for her or have the time like I once did. I am in search for her a new loving home. She’s very active & great with kids and already house trained & is up to date on all vaccinations.

Story
This gorgeous girl is Melody! Melody is a sweet girl that LOVES to be active and to be outside. Her very favorite toy is a rubber kong that she can safely chew on! She can be a little shy at first, but when she gets comfortable with you she LOVES to get tummy rubs! She likes to "rule the roost" so she will need to be any only dog- no cats and no other dogs. She has been around her pup foster siblings but does not like them. Melody is potty trained and crate trained! If her foster family is gone during the day she is crated and does very well. She is possessive over her food bowl so she prefers to be left alone while eating. Her foster family crates her and walks out of the room while she is eating to make her feel more secure. She’s really just afraid someone is going to take her food from her... Melody will be a great companion to the right family. If your family would be a perfect match for her, please apply! Story
It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for…Lulu is now heartworm negative! 😍 The mama to our “NFL Litter” is now ready for a home North or South! Her foster mom has had her for over a year waiting on this moment and loving her every day. She can’t even picture life without Lulu in it, but she knows she deserves a family to call her own. 🏡 This girl cannot control her “licker”! She loves to smother you in kisses, and happy to greet everyone she meets! She can also clear any fence - but she doesn’t want to escape, she merely wants to make new friends🐾 Her Current foster does not have a fence but has many acres and Lulu loves to romp but never wants to leave home base. Although she is happy running the trails, Lulu would be just as happy being a couch potato and snuggling up with her humans anytime they were available. 💤 Lulu sleeps with her 11 year old foster brother most nights, and she is happy sleeping in all weekend or rolling out of bed at 6 AM. She is 100% perfect with chickens and lives with them daily. 🐓 This perfect pittie has never met a stranger and is fantastic with other dogs. We would love for her to have a four-legged friend in her new home. Although she lives with cats, we think it’s best that she go to a cat-free home. Oh, and did we mention that she loves to go for car rides! She goes to work with her foster mom almost daily. She will ride shotgun, or anywhere she can squeeze. 🚗 Lulu also frequents the ballpark, where she gets constant attention and makes lots of new friends. She walks well on a leash, but she does get very excited and needs to be reminded not to jump to say hello. She is so smart and eager to please, she would do very well with consistency and training. She lived way too long on a chain, not knowing when she would eat again so she certainly appreciates her meals, but she is not food aggressive and often eats with puppies sticking their head in her bowl. She can sit and certainly knows to shake, as she will paw you yo say “I’m sorry”, or “hi” or “pet me”. 🥰 Lulu is perfect in our eyes, but it’s time to share her joy, and let her bring happiness to a loving family that she has certainly earned.🖤 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
