Story
Meet Ronnie! A happy fella ready to fill your days with endless joy and love. Ronnie previously came from a bad home life were he experienced domestic violence and abuse in his short lifetime. Despite this background, Ronnie is an absolute sweetheart. Ronnie can be a bit cautious at first, and is a little timid around new friends. When in new situations or with new people, he may even cower a little if there is chaos (barking, loud voices, etc). Ronnie has never offered to be aggressive towards people or other dogs nor has he shown any food aggression. This 2 year old is a total sweetie pie and just needs some time to feel safe in new environments. Ronnie is friendly and affectionate without being a velcro dog. He loves attention but also likes to go off and do his own thing. He does not have to be underfoot every waking second of the day, which a lot of people really appreciate about him. Ronnie is smart and learns quickly! He gets along with other dogs well, is playful and loves to have a friend! His best friend is his sister Gemma, but he does get along well with other male and female dogs including rambunctious puppies. While Ronnie does not appear to be overtly dominant, he doesn't always get along with dominant male dogs, therefore we do not recommend he go to a home that already has a dominant male dog present in the house. Ronnie walks on a leash, however it is apparent he has no formal training. Ronnie is fairly gentle with minimal pulling on the leash, and mostly follows along behind you in new situations, or may walk ahead of you if in a familiar environment. Ronnie has not been around kids so it can't be said with certainty, but Ronnie has not shown any behaviors or insecurities that would make him an inappropriate dog for families with older kids. Once Ronnie feels comfortable and safe in his new environment, he is quite the lover! He is looking forward to meeting his furever family. Send in your application today at www.underhoundrailroad.org. Ronnie is currently being fostered in South Carolina and may transport along the East Coast as far North as Maine to his adoptive home. Story
We don't even know the proper words to introduce this guy, he is absolutely one of a kind. John Boy is an absolute treat, to have around, he's such a smart dude knowing basic commands, and walking well on leash. He is eager to learn more though, and would love a home that can work with him to do that. John boy adores attention, you can likely catch him somewhere in someone's lap stealing the spotlight and giving all the love and attention. I mean with those looks, how can you not. John Boy adores canine friends, and we would like for him to meet any potential canine friends prior to adoption to ensure that they are a good match! John boy is eager about feline friends, using slow introductions in home would help set up everyone for success - Our staff will be happy to go over some good tips on how to do that, and what it may look like getting John boy home. If you're looking to add the goodest boy to your home, please come in and meet him!** John Boy has recently tested positive for heartworm, so he will need to be a foster to adopt through our organization while he goes through that treatment. We are happy to provide this treatment for his adopters, and are happy to discuss the timeline and what this looks like for John Boy with his potential family. **
