Story
Meet Artemis! Our sweet, shy girl with adorable satellite ears! Artemis is petite girl that will fit right into her new home! She sits and shakes and loves a yummy reward for her good behavior! Artemis is a fan of all toys and enjoys playing fetch in the yard. She came to us from an uncaring home and it took many weeks to show her that humans could be trusted. Artemis has really opened up and is ready to accept and give love! Come meet this adorable girl today! Madison is a kennel attendant and has spent a lot of time with our Artie girl. Here's what she has to say about her:"She is such a sweet and gentle girl and has easily become one of my favorites since I started working at HATS. Despite her rough start, she has come a long way in learning that it is ok to trust people and even loves attention. My favorite thing she does is when she prances around in the yard with her toy in her mouth (specifically any toy that resembles a ball). She loves to play fetch and get back scratches as well. I know that if someone gives her a chance, they will not be able to resist her sweet face and loving nature. (And not to mention the ears, come on!) She desperately deserves a loving home and family." Artemis can't wait to get out of the shelter and into a loving home! To help make that happen, her adoption fee has been waived!Artemis lived with another dog in her previous home. She would do best with no kitties.

Lexi is a 50 pound, 8 year old Blue Staffy Mix with gorgeous brown eyes and a soft, loving gaze. When she makes eye contact with people, they just melt. It’s precious. Lexi is a sweetheart who loves being with her humans, she brings a lot of love and laughter to everyone she meets. She demonstrates this often with her adorable body flops; they’re hilarious and cute. Lexi is crate trained and house trained, and she does well with other dogs after proper introductions. Lexi is completing her heart worm treatment, so she will need a calm environment to finish her healing. She is very smart, knows basic commands, and walks very well on a leash. Lexi is spayed and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Lexi apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Story
My name is Olive. I am a 2 year old spayed pit mixed. Now that my foster mom has me all figured out, I can finally look furever family of my own! I can be picky about what dogs I decide to befriend.I prefer to be the only Pup in the home. that would make me feel super comfortable in a new house. I'm not a fan of cats - I am Crate trained - Extremely potty trained I am a very smart girl and fast learner! - I am an active girl. I LOVE to run and play. - I need time to warm up to my new house. I was previously treated not so nice. So, I need time and patience to fully come out of my shell and be a goofy girl. I love people once I get to know them! - A fenced-in yard is required in order to adopt me because I am special and need space to run. I love toys and treats. That’s a fast way to win me over. I do have separation anxiety, so please don't leave me alone for too long at a time. I'm in Texas right now in a great foster home. But I can be transported to Michigan for a forever home at no cost to my forever family. For any questions or more information about me please email: Dogrescue0146@gmail.com OR you can fill out an adoption application at: https://forms.gle/HiqLBw5tHhZw7At38 Because she's in Texas there won't be any meet and greet applications filled out.

Story
Whitey is a 5 year old, 55 pound, bulldog/pit mix. I'm just going to share what Officer Carpentier said "When this dog came in he was very vocal. Everyone said "oh I don’t know about him". I sat with him that next day and within 10 minutes, he was licking me all over. Then I introduced him to the rest of the staff. Whitey and I are best friends here at the shelter now. I will probably cry when he leaves but I just want people to give him a chance and get to know him like we did. Even though he sounds like a t-rex, I promise he’s a teddy!! But no cats for whitey 🫣😅! We tried that and he looks at them like a roasted chicken." I can't add anything to this great write-up. In case anyone wants to know, this gorgeous, smiling good boi is the same scared dog that was trapped in Bitely. The adoption fee for dogs is $90. This fee includes spay/neuter, deworming, heartworm test, rabies & DHLPP shots, flea & tick treatment and license (for Newaygo County residents). Newaygo County Animal Shelter 78 N. Webster White Cloud, MI 49349 231-689-1867 Mon&Tues 11-1 Wednesday 3-6 Thurs&Fri 11-1 Appointments welcome and available upon request.

Meet Dale! This playful pup was found abandoned, tied to a gate with no food or water. Despite Dale's past, he is the happiest boy. He loves to play with squeaky toys and go for long walks. Dale can't wait to make up for lost time and love in his forever home. Dale could potentially live with older kids, cats, and other dogs.Griffin is a canine kennel attendant and one of Dale's daily caretakers. Griffin has this to say about his buddy, Dale:"Everyone, meet Dale! This lively pup was found abandoned without food or water. Dale may have a troubled past, but he does not let that bring him down. Dale is a high energy dog who loves to play fetch (especially with a squeaky toy). He also enjoys going for nice long walks to get a chance to stretch his legs and he does amazing on a harness! Dale can get very excited and he will let you know, but he is a great listener, particularly when there are treats involved! He has stores and stores of energy and with the right amount of attention and playtime he'll love you forever! Dale would do best with older children, or those who can handle a slobbery face of kisses and hugs. He deserves the world. Help give him the best gift ever by finding him his forever home!" Dale can't wait to get out of the shelter and into a loving home! To help make that happen, his adoption fee has been waived!

Story
Meet our grumpy little gargoyle, Roosevelt! Don't let his pouty face fool you, he is truly a shy sweetheart. Roosevelt is a Bulldog mix, around 3-years-old. He would do best in a calm, patient home that will work on making him feel safe and comfortable. If you gain Roosevelt's trust, his confidence will surely improve and you'll have a wonderful companion!Roosevelt would feel most comfortable with adults that can read his body language. He arrived as a stray so we are unsure of his full history. He weighs 53 lbs, has a stocky build, and we adore his toothy smile!
