Story
Libby came into rescue on 7/3 with her sister after surviving life as a feral kitten. Her fur was sun-bleached, her little body was thin, and she was carrying more parasites than any baby ever should. Most of all, Libby had never known a gentle hand. With time, patience, and a whole lot of love, Libby has begun to bloom and is now ready for her forever home. Libby is incredibly sweet and affectionate, but still very shy. She will need someone who understands the trauma she has been through and is willing to move at her pace. Once she feels safe, Libby loves affection and shows her gratitude with gentle, sometimes enthusiastic, love nibbles. She means no harm at all. This is simply her way of saying thank you. Libby has been around other cats and dogs. While we think she would truly shine as an only kitty so she can have the quiet time she needs to fully settle in, she could also do well in a calm home with other respectful animals. Libby never had the chance to learn how to be a kitten, and watching her discover safety, comfort, and trust has been nothing short of incredible. If you would like to follow Libby’s journey and see updates on her and other rescues, feel free to follow us on Facebook and TikTok. Facebook: Muddy Paws and Claws Rescue TikTok: @muddypawsandclaws Over the last four months, we have worked with them diligently, giving them time, patience, and love. At first we were not sure if they could ever be domesticated, especially Indy, but she has blossomed into the sweetest soul. She is learning how it feels to be cared for and cherished, and she is discovering her own playful spirit. She loves curling up on a warm lap, tossing around her toy mice, and she has a soft spot for kittens, other cats, and even dogs. Libby is her own kind of special. She is quirky, cautiously affectionate, and still figuring out how to love with confidence. She wants attention so much but gets a little awkward in how she approaches it, and sometimes gives gentle love nibbles as she learns bite pressure. There is nothing mean in her, only a girl who is healing and trying her best. These girls are bonded in a way that only survivors can be. They lean on each other and bring out the bravery in one another. They will need a home that is loving and patient, a home that understands that healing takes time. They are very shy and will likely take longer to adjust than most cats, but once they connect with you, that connection is deep and meaningful. Libby and Indy have been around other cats and dogs and do wonderfully in a calm and understanding environment. They are both spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready for the next chapter of their story. The adoption fee for the pair is $100. These special girls need a special human, someone who sees past the shyness and meets the love waiting on the other side. If you have a gentle heart and a peaceful home, Libby and Indy will reward you with the kind of bond that only trust can build.
