Story
FELV+ FIV+DOB: 3/25/2024 One of the biggest misconceptions about feline leukemia, which suppresses a cat’s immune system, is that it is an automatic death sentence. There are many variables, however, that come into play that determine how FeLV will affect a particular cat.  To learn more about this condition visit:  https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/feline-leukemia-felv-faqs Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection.  FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered. Story
DOB: 6/18/2025 Astrid and her sister Patches have come a long way from living by a KFC! Once scared and unwilling to trust people, both have become more loving! Astrid can still be a bit nervous, but once she’s comfortable she is an independent and playful kitten! She had no fear when shimming up her foster mom’s Christmas tree at first glance! She loves to play with her sister and foster siblings. She’s very interested in what the older kitties are doing and is eager to be their friend. This cutie pie should be adopted along with another cat or go to an home that already has a cat or two as she’s happiest with other kitties around! Astrid is excited to find her people and explore their home and make new friends! **Come meet me at Petco Easton Gateway!! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.
