Story
✨ Meet Comet – Our Springy, Sweet, Underweight Pup Who Just Needs a Soft Place to Grow ✨ Comet is a 5-month-old gentle boy who came to us underweight and is currently on a structured feeding schedule to help him fill out, gain confidence, and get healthy enough for his future neuter. He’s thriving in foster, but he still needs 2+ weeks in a calm home to continue this progress. What his former foster says: He’s a mellow little-big guy who spends most of his day relaxing, snoozing, and quietly observing the world. When playtime hits? He bounces, shakes his toys, and hops around like a happy, spring-loaded puppy. He adores other animals — he and his feline foster brother Cruller get along wonderfully, playing gently and respectfully. He’s still getting used to his big, growing body, but his heart is pure gold. Potty training is coming along beautifully! A couple of early accidents, but he’s learning quickly and doing great with frequent outdoor breaks. Comet is incredibly quiet — no barking, no whining, even when left alone. He’s a total velcro pup who follows his person from room to room, folds himself into your lap when he can, and melts under head and neck scratches. Sensitive and sweet, he responds well to redirection, wants to make good choices, and just needs someone patient and kind to help him continue blooming. Comet is a soft-hearted, gentle, eager-to-be-loved puppy who deserves a cozy spot while he grows stronger. If you can open your home for a couple of weeks, he’ll reward you with cuddles, quiet companionship, and that irresistible springy playfulness. All supplies, food and medical needs are covered during the foster period. Come meet Comet at High Country Humane, open daily 11am–5pm, closed Wednesdays.
