Hey there! My name is Gunner, and I’m a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix looking for a fresh start after recently being returned to CAC through no fault of my own. I’m a big boy with an even bigger heart, and I’m ready to find a family that will love me forever this time around. Because of my size and adventurous spirit, my friends here suggest I have a secure 6-foot fence to help keep me safe while I enjoy life to the fullest. I may be big, but I’m also a gentleman! I already know how to walk nicely on a leash and have some pretty impressive manners if I do say so myself. I’m a smart cookie too — I already know sit, wait, come, drop it, heel, and fetch! I LOVE showing off my skills, especially if tasty treats are involved. Honestly, if I were a human, I’d probably spend all my time at the gym and then head straight for a protein shake afterward. Strong and snack-motivated? That’s me. My perfect day starts with a nice morning stroll followed by relaxing with my favorite breakfast and cuddle time with my people. After that, I’m always up for a good game of fetch or tug-of-war… although fair warning, I’ll probably win 99% of the time. I can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but patience and a yummy snack are the quickest way to my heart. Once I trust you, I’m an incredibly loyal companion who just wants to be by your side for every adventure life has to offer. Right now, the staff aren’t sure how I do with other dogs, cats, or children, but they’re happy to help with meet-and-greets or testing to help find my best match. He walks beautifully and naturally matches your pace, making daily strolls a pleasure rather than a chore. He is fully potty trained and understands the rhythm of home life, settling in comfortably and contentedly once he knows he’s safe. Koda is a true snuggler at heart. He loves being close to his people and enjoys quiet moments spent cuddling or resting nearby. Because of his gentle nature, Koda would do best in a calm household with no small children, where he can enjoy a predictable, peaceful environment and plenty of one-on-one companionship. Cats? No worries! Koda has lived in a home with cats and gets caught on video playing with their toys! When it comes to travel, Koda does get carsick on longer trips, but this is easily managed with Dramamine when needed.
