Ranger was initially rescued by a Good Samaritan in 2024. He was found in the middle of a road just hours old with his umbilical cord still attached! A nursing mother was found for him & after he was old enough to eat gruel, Ranger came into rescue. Ranger was adopted as a puppy by his foster family but in December 2025, his family could no longer keep him so Ranger came back to us. Fun loving Ranger needs a forever home! 2 year old Ranger is a really sweet boy that loves to play. He enjoys the out of doors and will let you know what he sees and hears with his bark! Ranger likes his chill time too and will sleep in bed with you or in his crate. Ranger does well meeting new people, men and women alike and loves to play with other dogs— likes balls & playing fetch, especially with another dog playing too. And rather then shredding toys, he cobbs them like an ear of corn. Oh Ranger you silly boy! Ranger does well with car rides— he sits on his rear like a gentleman. He knows how to sit, shake and lay down. He does pull on a leash some but is getting better. And leave your counters clear or Ranger will swipe any yummies left behind! We have not done Ranger’s DNA, however we think he’s an Anatolian Shepherd mix with maybe some Great Pyrenees. He had the Pyrenees fluffy white undercoat as a puppy. A great eater, Ranger has the lean Shepherd physique and weighs 60-65 lbs. Ranger is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Ranger is being fostered in Little Rock, AR Adoption Requirements *A secure, visible fence *A home visit *Children in the home should be 12+ *A vet reference with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.

So there i was.... minding my bus-iness... when BAM, I was saved!!! Now i think you entered in the middle of my story..... so lets go back a couple of weeks.... Again, there I was.... wandering the neighborhood when I was seen by some of the nice neighbors and ONE of them happened to be a vet tech at a school.... and so, they knew my AWESOME rescue :D And HERE I AM!! Shrek is a great name for me too! I am kind of a sweet OGRE looking boy with a loving heart and kind of beat up body..... it is HARD to live on the streets! I had an old broken leg too, so limping was my norm... UNTIL, the rescue did the xrays and discovered that my back leg had been broken and healed very wonky.... and amputated it... And it is fine!! It doesn't hurt anymore... that was my dailly battle. NOW, I am a healthy TRIPOD boy looking for just the right family... one who will care for me for all my days! Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!!
