Story
Meet Sophie the sassy poodle mix. Sophie is alot of fun and loves to walk and play. Sophie given to PACA after her owners no longer wanted her. Sophie had horrible eye infections and it was discovered she had entropion (eyelashes that curled inward) which is very painful. PACA had the corrective surgery done for her eyes and she is ready for adoption. Due to the constant infections & pain, and probably frustration from her past owners in administering the eye drops, Sophie has developed a fear of having her eyes and feet touched. However, Sophie is making incredible progress in her patient foster home and with a trainer. She is accepting eye cleaning and we hope grooming soon. Sophie needs a home that will be empathetic, but continue to teach Sophie that grooming is a good thing. Adult only home. Sophie would probably be fine with a male dog that she could boss around. PACA is a Foster-Based Rescue with no shelter. We have adoption clinic on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11a-2pm at 6300 San Mateo (along the grass next to Academy Rd) in the southern end of the Spouts Market parking lot volunteer staffing/weather permitting. We can also make arrangements for a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with approved applications. You can complete and easy online application here: https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 The $250 adoption fee covers S/N, microchip, vaccines and heartworm/tic borne illness testing.
