Story
Meet Moose, he’s a four year old Aussie Doodle (hypoallergenic, no shedding!). We purchased from a breeder in PDX when he was a puppy, he’s looking for a kid free home with space to roam if possible (not a deal breaker!) He’s use to having acres to survey and enjoy but overall a lazy dog that doesn’t care for fetch or a walk in the park. He’d rather be on the couch with you taking a nap, looking out the window at outside, or going on a car ride. He’d prefer no small children in the home as we just had an incident where our toddler’s grabbed each side of Moose’s face, shaking his head and Moose bit our toddler’s cheek (this is why we’re re-homing him - we have two small children - we will gladly share with you all the details. He’s a sweet boy though, aiming to please and always ready to work for treats.. he loves it when the neighbor dogs wander over, and he visits with them - he’s gentle with smaller dogs

Meet Moose, he’s a four year old Aussie Doodle (hypoallergenic, no shedding!). We purchased from a breeder in PDX when he was a puppy, he’s looking for a new home with some space to roam if possible (not a deal breaker!) He’s use to having acres to survey and enjoy but overall a lazy dog that doesn’t care much for fetch or a walk in the park. He’d rather be on the couch with you taking a nap, looking out the window, or going on a car ride. He’d prefer no small children in the home as we just had an incident where our toddler’s grabbed each side of Moose’s face, shaking his head and Moose bit our toddler’s cheek (this is why we’re re-homing him - we have two infants). He’s a sweet boy though, aiming to please and always ready to work for treats—he knows some tricks! He loves it when the neighbor dogs wander over, he’s great at playing with them whether they’re big or small. Overall he is such a love and makes friends quickly.

Story
Meet Copito – Your Loyal Lapdog with a Love for Fetch and Snuggles! Copito is a 4-year-old poodle-dachshund mix with a heart full of love and a tennis ball never far from his side. Whether he's happily trotting around the yard or curled up in your lap chewing his favorite toy, Copito is always happiest when he's close to his person. This charming little guy is affectionate, gentle, and playful once he feels comfortable—and he forms strong bonds quickly. He loves to be by your side (or in your lap!) and will gladly ride in the car with you, settling in for a cozy nap during the drive. Copito is a polite leash walker, very dog-friendly, and has done great meeting other respectful pups. He even did well when introduced to a cat—he gave a curious sniff and then went on his way like a true gentleman. Copito has medium energy and would enjoy a home where he can play fetch, go for daily strolls, and then snuggle up for some serious cuddle time. Because he's a sensitive soul, Copito needs a little time to adjust in new environments and prefers a calm, low-traffic home where he can feel safe. He’s not a fan of surprise introductions, so a home with clear boundaries and a slow, respectful approach to visitors would suit him best. Once he feels secure, he’s incredibly loving, loyal, and eager to be your shadow. Due to his alert nature, Copito wouldn’t be the best fit for apartment living, but he’ll thrive in a quiet home with a yard and someone who’s around often—he really blossoms with attention and routine. If you're looking for a devoted companion with a playful side and lots of love to give, Copito is ready to meet his forever person. Could that be you? Questions? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation?
