Story
Meet Sadie 🐾
Sadie is a sweet, 7-year-old Australian Shepherd who has had quite the adventure! Born in Texas, she made her way to Tennessee before taking one final trip to Hawaii, where she is now looking for her forever home.
Although Sadie is an older gal, don’t let her age fool you — she still has plenty of that classic Australian Shepherd energy! She is happiest when she has a job to do, activities to keep her busy, and plenty of opportunities to use her brain and body. Her ideal home will be one that can keep up with her rambunctious spirit and give her the exercise, enrichment, and structure she needs.
Sadie is an indoor dog, fully housebroken, and comfortable being home alone as long as she has some toys to keep her entertained. She absolutely loves water, making her a potential beach buddy for someone who enjoys outdoor adventures. She also has a few favorite snacks, including frozen vegetables and blueberries!
When meeting new people, Sadie can be a little shy and reserved at first. Give her some time to hang out with you, though, and you’ll see her personality blossom as she becomes comfortable and opens up.
Sadie currently lives with cats, but she has always been separated from them when her mom is away or at bedtime. Because of this, her future home should be prepared to continue managing her around cats.
Sadie is looking for a home where she can be the only dog. She also does not thrive around young children. If there are kids in the home, they should be 15 years or older. Sadie simply doesn’t quite understand the concept of tiny humans and is much more comfortable with older kids who can respect her space and boundaries.
She does great in the car and already knows several fun tricks, including sit, dance, lay down, and shake. On walks, Sadie does best in a front-leading harness because she can get excited and start pulling before remembering to think about her recall.
Sadie is looking for someone who understands the needs of an Australian Shepherd and is ready to give an older girl the activity, patience, structure, and love she deserves. In return, she’ll make a loyal adventure buddy and loving companion.
