Story
Meet Duke A 1-year-old Australian Shepherd/Collie mix with the fluffiest tan, black, and white coat you’ve ever seen — and a heart that’s been waiting on someone to choose him. Duke’s DetailsAge: 1 yearSize: medium (about 32 lbs)Neutered Heartworm negative The Heart PartDuke is a little shy at first, and you can tell he’s had to be careful with his trust… but he is so incredibly sweet. He may hesitate for a moment, but once you start loving on him, he just melts into you like he’s been waiting on that comfort his whole life. Calm, Gentle EnergyFor being only a year old, Duke is surprisingly calm. He’s not wild or chaotic — he’s more of a “quiet companion” who just wants to be near you and feel safe. Smart + TrainableDuke already knows sit, shake, and he even sits “pretty” up on his hind legs . He’s learning more every day because he’s a smart boy who truly wants to do things right. Manners + Easy CompanionGreat on a leash — walks are smooth and easy with him. He’s not totally sure about a crate yet, but once he’s in, he settles quickly and does just fine. Sweet SoulWe have 5-week-old puppies here, and when they make noise Duke is the first one to check on them — trying to comfort them like a little babysitter. It’s the gentlest thing to watch.‍‍‍ Family & Dog FriendlyDuke does wonderful with other dogs and is great with kids too.  He is a very intimidated with cats. What he wants mostA soft place to land. A person who will look at him and say, “You’re safe now.”If you’ve been waiting for a loyal, gentle best friend — Duke is ready. Story
Meet Ellie — A Gentle Soul Ready for Her Second Chance 1–2 years old • Australian Shepherd mix • 45 lbsSpayed • Heartworm Negative • Up-to-date on vaccines & preventions Ellie’s story began in a place no dog should ever be — she and her sister, Amber, were left at the shelter to be euthanized. While Amber is bravely staying in Louisiana to undergo heartworm treatment, Ellie was given the chance to step forward and begin her next chapter. And she is quietly, beautifully deserving of it. Ellie is a sweet, gentle Australian Shepherd mix with a soft spirit and a loving heart. She can be a little bashful at first, but she warms up quickly once she feels safe. Ellie truly enjoys being around people and often chooses human companionship over anything else — she’s happiest when she’s close to her person. Why Ellie Is So Special    •    Gets along wonderfully with all other dogs    •    Gentle-natured but loves to play — don’t let her calm demeanor fool you; she absolutely enjoys a good romp in the yard    •    Sweet, affectionate, and quietly loyal once she warms up    •    Enjoys going for walks and does well on a leash    •    Crate trained and keeps her crate clean overnight    •    Still a bit hesitant to go into her crate on her own, but improving daily with treats and encouragement Ellie has the perfect balance of calm and playful. She’s happy to run and wrestle with her dog friends, then settle in beside you for quiet companionship. Ellie Is Ready for Her Forever After coming so close to losing everything, Ellie deserves a home where she will always feel safe, loved, and secure. She would thrive in a home that values patience, gentle bonding, and a dog who truly wants to connect with her people. If you’re looking for: a gentle but fun-loving companion a dog who enjoys both playtime and snuggles a loyal soul with a grateful heart Ellie may be the one you’ve been waiting for.  If you would like Ellie to join your family please fill out an adoption application.  Her $475 adoption fee covers all medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, Spay, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2616399##

Story
Hello! My husband and I acquired our dog 4 years ago from a breeder in a rural area around us at the time. We had 4 lovely and fun years with him but recently had a new baby. He has since been skiddish and unpredictable around the baby and we are not able to have the baby and dog alone in the same room. We are looking for a loving person that will love our boy as this is an extremely hard decision for us.
