Story
Peanut is the sweetest puppy that deserves all the attention she needs. We are looking for a good home that will love her like we do we have two kids under 5, one on the way, and an old small dog we’ve had for years that needs lots of attention. She needs more than we can give at this time. We would love to see her loved. She gets along with kids and dogs no issues our worry is the new baby and the 3 others that already need a lot of attention as well.

Story
Gypsy arrived at NCCR on 12/5/25, surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. She is an approximately 3 ½ year old spayed female Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. Gypsy is house trained and knows some basic commands. She is a highly intelligent working breed who will need plenty of daily activity, both physical and mental, to keep her happy. Gypsy loves to play ball with the volunteers and would probably enjoy agility training. She would prefer a home without young children. Gypsy gets along with some other dogs, but has not met many dogs in her life so far. *Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit. If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email, as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them. NYS Registration #RR028 Date of Arrival: December 5, 2025 Breed(s): Australian Shepherd & Border Collie Age: 3 & 1/2 years old Health info: Spayed, vaccinated, & microchipped

Born 12/21 I am looking to rehome them due to my health Issues. Both dogs have been neutered, get along fine, are fantastic in the house, Luv, Luv, Luv people, kids ( however I would prefer older kids due to them being rambunctious ) I prefer someone that is familiar with the breed or even has an Aussie already. They have had their vaccinations, I bathe and blow dry them every 2-3 months. They are trained on wireless fencing. . Both dogs love to play, chase frisbees, and ride well in the car. Story
Koda has had quite the journey with us. He came to us with an old fracture to his front right paw. We started him on pain medication right away. Over the next several weeks, his demeanor changed from aggressive to playful and affectionate. He was neutered, and his front right leg amputated to ease his discomfort for the future. He recovered amazingly well, like he doesn't even notice something is missing! Koda doesn't love other dogs walking by his kennel, but he is fine with them in a larger fenced area. We would do a meet and greet prior to adoption if you have another dog. Koda is approximately two years old, and would be ever so grateful for a loving family to call his own! ##1798942##

Story
Meet Alex! Alex is a handsome 1 year old mix breed pup. He is friendly, fun loving and energetic. Alex seems to do well with the other dogs that he’s met at LHS. We are recommending older kids due to his exuberance. Alex will need some work on leash walking with and basic commands. His new owner should have the time, patience and energy to dedicate to him. Alex would be a great companion for an active owner. He would make the best walking or running partner. If Alex sounds like the one for you, please fill out our online application or stop in during open hours. Wednesday 6-8pm or Saturday 12-3p.
