Story
Meet Fuzzy – A Heart Full of Gold 💛 Fuzzy is an 8-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with the gentlest soul you’ll ever meet. This sweet girl is house-trained, quiet, and incredibly well-mannered. She’s a little bit shy at first, but once she warms up, she’ll be your loyal shadow. Fuzzy loves people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She enjoys calm companionship and cozy naps by your side. She’ll need a securely fenced yard with tall fencing to keep her safe and happy while she explores. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will fill your days with quiet sweetness, Fuzzy might just be your perfect match. 💫

Story
Foster UPDATE “Leia Ray today playing at the dog park in cypress black bayou. She is loving snuggles, playing tug and working on her training. Such a great dog and so affectionate. lol just don’t leave food unattended ” Apply to adopt Leia at petsaversshreveport.org   Hi there! I'm Leia Ray, a one-year-old Australian Shepherd mix weighing around 50 to 55 pounds. I found myself at Pet Savers through no fault of my own, just because my previous family was going through tough times. But don't worry, I'm a resilient pup! I get along great with other dogs, kids, and even cats. Plus, I'm already house trained and know some cool tricks like sit, scoot, and being gentle when taking treats. Playing in the water is one of my favorite pastimes, and I had a blast running in the rain during my photoshoot. I'm an all-around wonderful dog, ready to bring joy to any family. If you're interested in meeting me, please apply today!  January 24, 2025, 9:42 am

Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying.  Thank you for your cooperation. Video link:  https://youtube.com/shorts/UqFzMd0rhOM FOR ADOPTION!  Note: Only those with a responsible dog ownership history and excellent vet reference need apply. INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLY: PLEASE read profile thoroughly BEFORE applying: DOG APPLICATION LINK: http://www.roadtorescuela.org/dog-application RESERVING A PUPPY: If your application is approved, you will be contacted by phone. Specific puppies are only reserved with a $100 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit once the approved adopter is notified. Becky (female) Intake date:  7/3/2026 Breed:  Mini Australian Shepherd DOB:  3/31/2026 Weight on intake:  8.6 pounds Current weight 7/16/2026:  10.2 Size potential:   We were told she is a mini Aussie, which the adult weight can range from 20-30 pounds, but we cannot guarantee the weight.  Some can reach up to 40 pounds.  We don't think that's true in her case, but we just don't guarantee weights.   Adoption fee and vetting: $450, spayed, four rounds of puppy shots (plus rabies), on Simparica Trio, fecal negative, microchipped.   Benefactor Dog/Puppy:  When we have a popular dog or puppy, we dub them a “Benefactor Dog”.  A Benefactor Dog will have an above average adoption fee.  In other words, for OTHER dogs where the adoption fee is minimal or waived due to age, health or some other reason (although we’ve likely spent hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars) a Benefactor dog will help us somewhat make up the shortfall.  If this dog has an above-average adoption fee, she/he is a Benefactor Dog. Good with other dogs: yes Cats: yes Health issues: none found. Biography: PLEASE keep in mind your AGE! Despite what you may want, we want YOU to outlive the pup… not the other way around! Puppies (especially small-breed) can live 15-20 years!   Becky is an owner-surrender.  Her elderly owner wasn't quite ready for a puppy.  Becky is the sweetest, most innocent little girl.  She is playful and fun.   Watching her watch Sploot and Fig and wanting to get in the action is so funny!  She hops around them as if to say "let me in... let me in!".   She literally hops.  LOL!   When she relaxes on her belly, you'll find her crossing her front paws.  We tried to capture it but no one had their phones handy!  She's happy with a sweet temperament.   Becky does fine in a kennel if needed and walks ok on a leash.  She's very smart so should learn basic commands and housetraining quite easily.  She's going to make one lucky family so happy, but get your applications in quickly because we don't think she's going to last! PUPPIES! Keep in mind, puppies teeth just like human babies and have little sharp toenails. They will also have behaviors that require training. Puppies will cry, chew, bite, mouth, nip, bark, destroy, dig, scratch, etc. The puppy phase lasts about 18 months (sometimes longer), so be sure you ARE READY for the commitment! Don't even think about applying if you have any doubts about raising a puppy... and don't expect children to take care of the puppy... because they won't! This needs to be an adult decision and an adult commitment. POTTY TRAINING: A puppy can only hold their bladder for a short period of time based upon their age. If the puppy is 2 months old, they can hold their bladder for 2 hours; 3 months/3 hours; 4 months/ 4 hours, etc., up to 6 months of age. At about 6 months of age, this time frame stables out. Puppies are a 10-15 year commitment (sometimes longer). Please be sure you are prepared for the life of the puppy! In conclusion, if your puppy is in a responsible home that provides daily structure, training and socialization with people and other pets, your puppy will grow to be a well-adjusted and wonderful part of your family for many years to come. COMMITMENT: Puppies are a 10-15 year commitment (sometimes longer). Please be sure you are prepared for the life of the puppy! Bear in mind your AGE! While life is never guaranteed, we want the odds to be that YOU outlive the puppy, not the other way around. In conclusion, if your puppy is in a responsible home that provides daily structure, training and socialization with people and other pets, your puppy will grow to be a well-adjusted and wonderful part of your family for many years to come. **IMPORTANT NOTES** *We do adopt out of state provided the adopter is willing and able to travel to us once approved. We do not ship or transport our animals and there is no exception to this rule. *All of our adoptable dogs are small, and they are never to be left outside alone, ever! We only rehome our dogs to adopters that plan to have them as inside dogs and part of the family! We do allow adopters with doggie doors, provided there is SECURE fencing. There is no exception to this rule! *NO SMALL CHILDREN!! As with almost all the dogs at NR2R, young children or a very active household is not recommended. Many of our dogs come to us BECAUSE of small children, thus we do not rehome our dogs to homes with babies or young children. KEEP THIS IN MIND IF YOU HAVE VISITING GRANDCHILDREN AS WELL! Even if the children are older, it would depend on the child AND the parent or parents. *HOUSETRAINING: We do NOT guarantee that any of our adoptable dogs are housetrained. While most should be easily trained, keep in mind that they live in a rescue where they have access to the outdoors all day and are inside at night. Even if they were surrendered to us as housetrained, it doesn’t mean they will automatically be housetrained in your home. Housetraining them should be easy in the right home with time, patience, and consistency. *We do not guarantee the age, health or temperament of any of the dogs we rehome. Many of the dogs we take in come from animal control and rarely do we have histories and even when we do, many times the histories are inaccurate. *Only adopters with a responsible dog ownership history and excellent vet reference need apply. If you bring this pet into your heart and home, you will receive in return many years of love, companionship, and loyalty. That’s our guarantee. Other notes: This pet is available for adoption through Ninna’s Road to Rescue, Benton, La. We are 501c3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to rescue primarily small-breed dogs and to re-home them into RESPONSIBLE and CARING forever homes. DOG APPLICATION LINK: http://www.roadtorescuela.org/dog-application Time may be of the essence if you are looking to adopt a specific animal. We do not reserve animals, unless and until we have approved your application, provided the animal is still available at the time we receive your application. The first APPROVED application we receive will be considered. We are NOT a first come, first serve rescue!! We adopt our rescues out to the RIGHT home, not just A home. Only responsible pet owners need apply. Applying to adopt does NOT commit you to the adoption NOR does it guarantee the adoption. CONTACT: Our adoptable pets are updated regularly, but if you want to check the availability of a pet... OR still have questions AFTER reading this profile, message us via our Facebook page. Please indicate the name when communicating with us. www.RoadtoRescueLA.org “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”  ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~  Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life.  Blessings. Story
Tootsie and her 10 puppies were brought to the local pound by her owners to be surrendered. When they found out how much it would cost, they were dumped . Tootsie by the highway. Puppies down the road near railroad tracks. Someone took her in for the weekend, then on a Monday she was taken to the pound. The puppies were found, (1 dead), and taken to the persons house. He gave away 2. 2 ran off, never to be seen again. So Monday 5 puppies were taken to the pound. They were reunited and within the hour of being euthanized, they were rescued with a foster. Tootsie didn't last at the foster because she doesn't like being in a kennel and broke out of all 3 she was out in. She also velcroed herself to the foster. Ultimately, she had to leave urgently and we had no choice but to put her in boarding. It's draining our funds. However, while in boarding, since she is able to roam freely, we have discovered what an absolute precious girl she is. She's quiet, non-reactive to other animals and people. She just wants to chill and be loved. She loves to go outside for walks. She will.do her business outside on those walks. She's spayed and currently undergoing heartworm treatment. We've tried desperately to find her another foster, with no luck. She can be adopted in Texas but has to wait until she heartworm negative before leaving the state. If you can fostering or adopting, please message me. P.S. Her puppies went on transport to Oregon to all be adopted by loving families. ❤️🐾❤️
