Story
"Mocha was found on the side of Old Sour Lake road April 9th 2026. She was in heat and being pursued by an aggressive male. When we stopped, she ran right up to us seeking help. She was covered in so many fleas it took 3 dawn dish soap baths to get rid of them. I posted her all over Facebook and lost and found websites, but her previous people never came forward. Even though she was clearly cared for, previously groomed, trained, a picky eater, and the vet said possibly already on heart worm prevention since no parasites were found in her fecal test. I love her dearly. I cannot provide her the high energy job she needs. She wants to work and herd. This is a high energy dog that needs a job, a lot of land to run on, and fellow dogs to play with. To ensure she goes to the right home, I’ll be completely honest about everything I know about her. The pros and the cons. If you’re considering adopting Mocha, please take the time to read through them carefully to picture what life will be like with her. Pros Gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful. Spayed, fully vaccinated, and chipped. Vet records will be supplied You can rename her. We haven’t been able to figure out her real name so we call her Mocha but she doesn’t respond to it. She’s still young. Vet said about 8 months. She has an entire lifetime ahead. Easy to bathe. She doesn’t fight baths. I’ve always bathed her in the shower with warm water. Intelligent and curious. Trainable. Understands NO. Sit. Paw. Eats slowly, does not gorge, stops eating when full. Enjoys car rides and rides well. Will let you know when she needs a potty break with prolonged eye contact and vocals. Very attached to her favorite person. Wants to be friends with cats and dogs. We think she had cat friends before. She’s cautious around new dogs until they show manners. Then she wants to be friends. Loves water. She’s definitely a water-type Pokemon! Cons Needs a lot of time and training. Will jump and run through any body of water she finds, especially gross ditch water. She will acknowledge boundaries, argue, and then test them regularly. Countertop shopper. If she can reach it, she will. And she’ll wait until you’re not looking. She’s a picky eater even when hungry. Separation anxiety. If she can’t see you she’ll get loud and scratch at the door or gate until you’re within sight again. She’ll follow you from room to room no matter what. She’ll be your shadow and underfoot constantly. She’ll try to heard you by walking behind you and mouthing the back of your legs and ankles. Not fully housetrained. Prefers carpet for her accidents. To her, there’s no difference between outdoors and indoors. Only sleeps about 6 hours through the night. When she wakes up at around 6am, she expects you to get up too. If you don’t, she’ll get into trouble. Favorite chew toys are shoes and tv remotes. Paws at you regularly. Keep her toenails short. May have a vision impairment. She relies primarily on hearing and scent. Sheds her long hair endlessly. It will be everywhere, always. Tastes every puddle she comes across exposing herself to parasites and pathogens. Intolerance with physical restraint. This is what causes her problems at the vets office. Doesn’t trust humans to touch or handle places where she’s hurt. Will eat random plants and then vomit. Very anxious at the vet. Will growl at the veterinarian and require a muzzle for sample collection. She’ll need a prescription to calm her nerves before vet visits. Collecting a fecal sample took 3 vet techs, a muzzle, and a lot of dramatic howling." If interested, please contact Hannah via Youmari@gmail.com or (409) 350-7880
